Well, it looks like about 7 will be ready by Halloween...we may make frankenpumpkins from the baby green ones.

How soon a pumpkin rots depends on the weather in your area. If it's getting cool where you are you can carve a pumpkin a few weeks before Halloween and you'll still have a cool looking jack when the big night arrives.

You can extend the life of the carved pumpkin by rubbing Vaseline on the carved flesh and the insides, thus keeping oxygen from getting to it and slowing the rate of decay.
