Went into a NHS walk-in centre and had the bite checked out. Just a quick in and out job but the nurse involved looked distinctly unimpressed! Still as most of you have said, better safe than sorry.

@Milktoaste: Staffys are a great breed, if they're brought up right (like any dog) they are one of the friendliest and playful dogs around. Its always the owners fault in my book.

My Amstaff is actually a giant wimp. Sometimes I think people actually want their dogs to bite people, like they're substituting their dog for a tazer or mase. People think it's 'cool' to own a dangerous animal. It sucks to hear that you were on the recieveing end of someones stupidity, Scouse, I hope you atleast get a cool scar to for it:)

Walking the dogs in the park this morning and there were signs up on trees warning people about a Staffordshire Terrier which was attacking dogs. It was described as 'white with brown spots'.

It very possible it could be the same one who took a chunk out my leg, but I would describe it as 'brown and white patches', a small difference I know but...

Whoever had put the signs up said they had reported it to the police which made me think I should've too. Hindsight is 20/20 vision and all that.



Scarred over but not too impressive, just a couple of lumps which are still a little tender to the touch where the impressive punture wounds were. If there was ever a compare your scars thread, they wouldnt raise too much comment!

Well that sucks. I've got scars from 4 seperate dog attacks now, only one scar turned out cool though. I never called the police either, always figuring I put myself in the position to get bit so I feel I should share the blame with the animal. With all the signs now posted where you walk your dogs, it sounds like you won't be seeing much of that dog or it's owner again. Staffy's are usually very well behaved around people, it's other dogs that get them aggitated.

Sounds like you really got the raw end of the deal this time Scouse, hopefully this is all behind you now and you can chalk it up as another story to tell.
