What did everyone think???

fortunato 10-05-2011 07:40 PM

Well, it's absurd, disjointed, and I can't imagine that they'll be able to keep up the pace while juggling what is a staggering amount of genre commitments.

But I really enjoyed it. It was nice to kind of shut off and go along for the ride. It doesn't seem like they have any idea what they're going to do with this show, or where they're going to take it, but oh well. It's completely batshit insane, and I find a real delight in their dedication to that.

I thought it was totally loony and ridiculous, but had engaging imagination. The horror tropes were certainly trounced all over, but I liked that, too.
We'll have to see if it lasts, even though I really can't imagine it will. But here's to hoping.

I had to work.

I hope it will be On Demand.

Yeah, I'm interested to hear what everyone else thought. Boiled down, I guess my thoughts are: intellectually, I realize it's a huge mess, but I enjoyed it even still.

I'm still mulling it over. I'm not sure how I feel about it. You are correct, fortunato, in that it was absurd and disjointed. It probably didn't help that I was tired and my brain wasn't functioning very well. I'll give it another try. Frankly, with all the profanity and sexual situations, I'll be surprised if the so-called "moral majority" will allow it to stay on the air.

damn-it....forget all about it...will watch On-Demand

Yeah, definitely. I wouldn't be surprised if this one doesn't make it to a second season.

I feel like this show will appeal to serious horror fans that can appreciate horror for a series of good scenes and not so much story or characters, cause I'm not sure we'll have much coherence with respect to either in American Horror Story.

To be honest, even though I haven't seen it yet, and what they've done might be really great, I'm a bit disappointed, because I was hoping for a good straight forward horror anthology series.

Yeah, that would have been awesome.

from what I've been reading I have to agree with you. This sounds more like David Lynch on speed. But I'm still gonna give it a chance.
