It seems I'm always in the minority ::big grin::
Honestly, I'll have to go against the grain on this one. I didn't think Cabin In The Woods was all that original or special. I knew within two minutes exactly what the film was going to be, ending and all. Parts of it were ok, most of it was stupid, and I saw nothing that made me think "wow, this is great" or "there was something I've never seen before" or "I didn't see that coming". There were some interesting ideas but nothing came to fruition for me. It might be worth seeing once for a horror fan, but it's not something I would recommend to my friends. I don't see any rewatchability value in it so I have to vote thumbs down. |
I thought it was a great movie and one of the better horror movies of the last few years. I don't think I rate at as highly as some of you folks do though. Its the type of movie I have already watched a couple of times and would throw on now and again while I'm having a few beers with friends.
As for Hellraiser, its a masochistic masterpiece and the character interactions and relationships are what makes the first movie so great. Its focuses on two of the staples of horror, sex and death until there's nothing left but a bloody mess. What more do you want? |
