Well, it got a higher rating than the first one from Ebert (I know, I know, boo hiss, but I like him and usually agree with him), so it's piqued my interest (moreso than before). I'm going out to see it tomorrow

I try to watch every week, I think they know what they're talking about most of the time.

some times they know what they are talking about, and the other times there just blowing smoke up you ass.

there's no right or wrong, they're just giving you their expert opinion on the paticular film naturally you're going to agree and disagree according to what you think of the film afterwards.

true, alot of times i dis agree. not just with them but all critics. i think there should be genra critics.

by saying genre critics you can't be impling that you're upset about the reviews they've been giving the latest horror movies coming out because they really haven't been that good.

and there are genre critics you just have to look around the net and I'm sure you'll find some.

yeah there are genra critics but they should be more public, not require 15min of searching to find a 4 line review.

DISAGREE!!!

Just got done seein' it, did not enjoy it. A little too much symbolism, and they weren't connected as well as the first.

Still spooky, just not scary.

Ill probably rent it when it's on DVD, absolutly no intention of wasting $10 to see it in theatres. The 1st american one was OK, so this could be decent...but I doubt it.

The people I went to see it with all liked the first one better too, I didn't really like the first one though. After seeing this new one, it made everything in the first one make sense.

the first one is better in american, they should of had the japs make a sequle then remade that one.

I haven't seen the japanese ones. I can't stand subtitles, If I want to read I'll get a book. :p

The first remake are very much alike...I like the japanese version better(cause I like the asian setting)...but I like the remake too..:)
...and Ringu 2 (japanese) is ok....not so scary....more a investigation movie....
...and part 3 (japanese) has a different director and the location is at a drama school...its watchable

The Ring is 19 minutes longer, and it seems like more. There's a lot more added to the plot of The Ring, which isn't particularly a good thing. In some ways, they're a lot alike. But there are a lot of differences.

i saw the american one the day before it hit theaters. as for the rest i saw the vid and ill do the same with 2.

The only problem is i can't find it anywhere in rental places.
