Psycho also has a very excelent twist, if you don't already know it. Both amazing films, but my favorite remains Rear Window. |
I've only seen the remake of Psycho. But my uncle saw the original, and said the remake was almost exactly like the original. Vince Vaughn did good as Norman Bates.
|
No offense, but how would you know Vince Vaugn made a good Norman Bates if you haven't seen the original? Vince Vaugn made a terrible Norman Bates in a horrible remake of a classic.

But that is just one opinion.....:D |

I meant he did a good job being all paranoid and stuff. |

I need to see that remake...
For the life of me I can see V V playing that role |
Strangers On A Train
Notorious Vertigo Rope North By Northwest not necessarily in that order. |
No doubt, Rear window...and North by northwest...

Alfred Hitchcock is the greatest director of all time. Fact!
My fave Hitch film - Rear Window But also consider, Psycho North By Northwest Suspicion The Lodger Frenzy I really didn't like The Trouble With Harry much. That's the only Hitchcock film I've never watched to the end. There's a few I haven't seen but I've seen 28 of his films. |
Hey, someone else finally mentioned Frenzy on a list of favorites. You have great taste....lol....I have never seen The Lodger. I need to add that one to my must-see list, I suppose. One of the very few Hitchcock films I haven't seen. The Trouble With Harry is another I haven't seen (well, I have seen parts of it on TCM, but never sat down and watched it through to the end).

North by Northwest
Hitchcock is definately one of the top 5 directors ever(imo) |

Yes the Lodger is ace. Depends if you like silents. End of the day a great film is a great film, I know some people are funny about silent or subtitled films like that. Frenzy is brilliant too. To be honest though I was a little shocked with Hitch showing not one, but two naked women!! The old spunker! It just feels different to his other films. Maybe it's because it's his first movie filmed in England for a long time I don't know. It just feels a lot more modern than the others. |
The Lodger, Vertigo, The Birds.
Of Course Psycho original over new one, never liked the remake. |

I think Frenzy is fairly brutal and graphic in a lot of ways (not to mention brutally funny) and it is one of my favorite films of all time. It is certainly unique among Hitchcock's work. |
Psycho
Shadow of a Doubt Rear Window North by Northwest Strangers on a train I think Hitchcock is a great director and his movies are great. |
Frenzy is my all-time fav, but Shadow of a Doubt is great, and seems to be mentioned very little here, and it was as legend has it, Hitch's favorite film of his.
Family Plot, the only one of Hitch's films that was a total waste. |

She ranks very low on most Hitch ice queen polls at other film forums. Two factors: She was not an established(or even struggling) actress, but a model. Which kind of gives some the impression she had no talent. Number 2: She rejected the sexual advances of Sir H(who fantasized about having an affair with her), which many other Hwood starlets would have jumped at for a part in one of his films. As far as my personal opinion, I thought she was quite good, and would put her in the top 10. She did follow some really tough acts- Grace Kelly, Eva Marie Saint, Ingrid Bergman, Janet Leigh and even Doris Day, but I think she held her own with those ladies. And some of his silent era actresses were pretty abyssmal. So Hedren was far from the worst. |
