Ah, well I only watched the show once with a friend of mine. I wasn't impressed. Cold reading is a pretty standard trick, you run into people who harass you for money on the street who do it all the time. You could do it too....you simply call out facts at random people until someone stops and listens, then flesh out what caught their attention in the first place. There are a lot of homeless psychics in San Fran:)
