The bottom line is...They're animals...We eat them...If given the chance, many of them would eat US The predator/prey relationship isn't usually a sweet, happy romance... It's life |

But anyways, you seem to want to argue with me. Killing and eating animals is fine in my book, obviously... as a hunter and rancher. You have me mistaken with shady. My only point was I could see how people like shady could get upset at a film like Cannibal Holocaust. And, in fact, the movie producers were hoping poeple like shady got upset. |
Wow, BR- You really have some strong opinions on this one, dont ya? haha
Shady asked if the animal slaughter in the film is real because he personally doesn't like to see animal cruelty and then he just gets pounced on... hahaha It's not like he was telling us all to be vegans or anything, he just asked about the movie. |

I don't know...It's either the ignorance or the hypocrisy (maybe a little bit of both) that gets to me |

I happen to believe that human life is just a little more important than animal life, but I know that not everyone feels this way And for those who say "But, they did it just for money and that's wrong"...You don't think food costs money?...How about shoes, clothes, wallets...Oh, but that's okay because we WANT those things Now tell me, "No we NEED food"...yeah, okay...But, do we need $25 per lb filet mignon?...Probably not Many animals are BRED, just to be slaughtered...Just to make money...It's no different than the exploitation for profit in these films...As a matter of fact, these films didn't even make a small percentage of what is made from the slaughter of animals every day, with other excuses People are only upset about these films because they can SEE it...What if they could SEE where most of what they consume comes from...Would they be equally upset about it, or just accept it because it feeds their needs?...Do they really think this shit grows on trees?...Know what I mean? |

Ohhhhhhhh, okay, now I see where you're coming from on this. Valuing animals over people is ridiculous, but I guess it didn't seem to me like that train of thought entered the conversation until he was (probably already feeling) attacked, but perhaps I'm wrong on that & I don't feel like going back and reviewing the whole thread to figure it out. In any event, I love eating meat ($25/lb filet mignon sounds delicious right now) and I detest when people try to force their will on others. (I am a smoker too, so believe me I hear it all the time.) I guess I'll just say that Shady probably wouldn't enjoy this film and leave it at that. ;) |
