I can barely sit through Exorcist. I have to cover my eyes with that one.

The Ring scared a ton when I first saw it. It has become on of my favorites and I watch it about twice a week, its still a little scary.

The Exorcist does nothing for me I can't see why its scary at all!!!

Japanese Ringu(ring) is one of the creepiest things I have seen, the remake is watchable but a pale shadow in comparison!!!

Classic creep would be Der Golem

The first scarry movie I watch was rosemary baby, then it was return of the dead, and halloween.
The scariest out of them was halloween when I first watched that music would scare the crap out of me.
Now it doesn't even bother me.
Since we are talking about older movies that I grew up with.

freddy69 07-14-2004 09:50 AM

there is no movie scary enough for me .

Blade 07-14-2004 04:22 PM

I AGREE WITH U 100%

The Exorcist is a great horror movie. I don't think that any movie can be classified as the scariest. Any movie you can think of, can be countered by another movie. It all depends on who you are talking to. True Exorcist(the new version) is very scary. The sequels sucked by the way. Sleepaway Camp was great, and I was totally shocked at the ending. Indeed very disturbing. But couldn't you also argue that May was disturbing with the video scene? My personnall favorite is Halloween. Not so much for the acting, but simply because I thought that it was a good straight forward scary movie.

Ju-on
The Eye

dantehorrorfan 08-05-2004 10:04 AM

aravn4u 08-06-2004 08:42 PM

for me it was the Exorsist and Halloween

youshouldvknown 08-10-2004 07:25 AM

Yeah, Nosferatu was pretty scary. I fell asleep watching it (not because it was boring but because it was the night after my last big exam and I was beat) and actually had a nightmare. Well, sort of. Nosferatu was IN the nightmare, but that's not really what it was about.

Anyway, I'm still saying TCM (the original) is the scariest. Also, The Hills Have Eyes. It pales in comparison to TCM, but its still pretty scary.

Blade 08-10-2004 03:28 PM

TCM?

When I was in high school, my cousins and I were looking for a good scary movie to watch and one picked up TCM. I was like "Uh uh... no way. I'm not watching that crazy shit." but I was outnumbered so we took it back home and watched it. My cousins live on a secluded heavily wooded highway of sorts. It's a short cut from the interstate into town so there's always big mack trucks coming by. This set the ambiance for a scary movie and, even though we still watch the movie every time we're together, it still scares the piss out of us. Maybe it's because we're girls, but yeah. I guess in reality its more creepy than scary, but when you're seven, it's scary as all hell.

Yeah actually Halloween is rated R. And what does the rating of a movie have to do with being scary or not.

gnarly 08-27-2004 05:38 AM

Old Banyan Tree 09-10-2004 11:36 PM

It's The Excorsist DUH!!!!

I agree, only because I was young when I saw It. The same goes for The Omen. I think after a certain age, there is no such thing as a scary movie. At least for me.

Blade 10-01-2004 01:24 PM

BIG MEAT EATER 10-01-2004 02:57 PM

Any movie where animals talk, as in "real" human voices sinked against pig snouts and duck beaks etc...I seriously can't whatch em....

phantomstranger 10-19-2004 02:46 PM

The Exorcist is still the scariest film ever made....but avoid Exorcist:the begining ,it could be the worst horror film since "The Blair Witch Project"

phantomstranger 10-19-2004 03:24 PM

Okay I forgot to add on "Night Of The Living Dead" the original (all though the remake was'nt to bad)

Psycho
Jaws
Nightmare on Elm Street
are all classics I'm sure I'll come up with more later.

palmboy12 10-19-2004 03:26 PM

Halloween by far... Espically when watching on All Hallow's Eve in a dark room with your girlfriend. (or boyfriend)

JoethePlumber 10-29-2004 12:00 PM

I shall say

Nothing really scares me. I can be made to jump on a cheap shot but I rarely come away from a film feeling rattled or have an un-nerving feeling.

TCM though is very menacing and unrelenting. Holloween the original is a class movie and can get to you. After the the first though it lost its direction and soul-It became all about the "Teens" and will the "Teens" survive? Who cares the thing you want to happen is for the bad guys to win as that is what Horror is about-putting you in a position you are not comfortable and then keeping you there.

Thats why Night of the living dead is such a classic. It ends on a flatline with all the main cast dead.

:D actualy i have never cryed during the horror movie.

Modestas 10-31-2004 02:46 PM

I think the Amityville horror is the most scary movie ever. why? because its made by the real story. and when u know, that such events can occur in the reality... it really very scray.
