Hey all!
I just wanted to pop-in and let you all know that NIGHTMARE WORLD #27: "The Thing That Should Not Be" is now complete and online for your reading pleasure! :D This one was a little different for us -- it's a prose story written by me with spot illustrations by various members of the NW team... And it's also the "missing link" between NW #2 ("You Oughta Know") and #23 ("Disasterpiece")!!! Check it out and let me know what you think!!! Thanks for the support everyone!!! You kick booty!!! Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |
Aaron- I'm digging nightmare world! Some hot stuff you got there- really nice. I do a horror comic myself (I'm the writer) and we just printed our first issue. It's called Enlightenment: the devil you know and it's available on our website http://www.blackliststudios.com

COnsidering this, you'll be happy to know that June's story #29 (which just started this past Thursday) is by the EXACT SAME ART TEAM!!! In the 29 months that we've been doing www.NightmareWorld.com this is the first time this has ever happened!!! Be sure to let me know what you think when it's finished! :) (In a lot of ways I think this is one of the darkest stories we've done yet... apparently the upcoming Page Four keeps makin Josh's girlfriend cry... :D ) Best wishes, Aaron Weisrbrod |

Will they know which one i'm talkin about?? What date are you startin to sell the signed copies online?? Cheers mate Preach |

Sorry I was away for the summer... busy takin' classes and all that stuff. Regardless, yeah, signed graphic novels *AND* the new black NIGHTMARE WORLD: "Cthulhu is my Homeboy" T-shirts are now available through the site and the NIGHTMARE WORLD Message Board!!! Go-go-go check 'em out! Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |
Good to see you back Aaron.
How did the comic conventions go?? |
"comicbook shops everywhere" you say? I really dont like buying off the net...but if I could order it from a comic shop, Ill definatly look into one of the books, for sure!
By the way...keep up the good work man! Just got around to finishing reading "Mine" now...one of the best endings yet, IMO. |
Really, really cool stuff, Aaron. Some (but not all) of the stories could use a little fleshing out, but the eight page format works a lot better than I would have expected. I'm not trying to rag on you, just to offer a little positive criticism. Being the Lovecraft fan that I am, I really enjoyed the comics with Mythos themes. Seriously, keep up the good work. With the amount of talent that you guys display, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the major publishers come calling.
Love your avatar, by the way. |
Triple Thread Threat
Hey all! Thanks for the kind words!!!
NOVAKRU: The Chicago Convention was the bomb, man! I had a blast! Now I just need to find a list of good horror conventions to start going to... lol Any tips/advice? RETURN: Yessir!!! You can order the book through any local comic shop!!! Just tell them you want a copy of NIGHTMARE WORLD: "Knee Deep in the Dead" and other Tales of Terror" through Funnel Cloud 9 Publishing. :D Let me know if they give you any grief and we'll work something out... ;) By the way, thanks for the props on "Mine"... I was afraid that story was going to tick EVERYONE off... but it ended-up working-out really well. :D NOCTUARY: Thanks for the kind words, man! It's funny -- the only semi-complaint I ever hear about NW is that sometimes people want more to certain stories... but I'm a jerk who likes to leave people wanting more. :p Seriously, though, thanks for the kind words, man. VERY appreciated -- especially from another mythos fan! Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |

I don't know if you saw this or not, but I actually wrote a denouncement to that story in the NIGHTMARE WORLD Forum detailing the inspiration for the story and what it was about... It's in the thread titled "In My Darkest Hour" Part 4 (of 4), and you can get to the Message Board through the NIGHTMARE WORLD main site or by clicking HERE. As you'll see, this was a VERY personal story for me... Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |
I just read it.
That gave me chills. Sorry for your loss,(my mom's dog died about a year and half ago,and she still gets up in the middle of the night to let the dog out),very sad, losing a friend. |
These can be read over so many times, and still be just as good as the first time. I just finished reading a few of my favourites again, still awesome man.
BTW- Havnt had a chance to call the booksore yet, but I migth have a chance to be out that way tomorrow or the next day, in which case Ill stop in. Hopefully I can get it from them, but if not Ill drop you a line... |
Honored... twice.
Thank you both for your kind words. :)
I just finsihed proof-reading the NIGHTMARE WORLD Volume 2 (!!!) collection for the last time, and man, does it rock socks. Don't get me wrong -- the first collection is rock friggin' solid -- but Volume 2? This one is pure magic. :D Thirteen FULL-LENGTH stories (including a brand-new eight-pager, a completely redrawn version of "Bitter Wine" byMark Winters", and the Uber-Director's Cut of "The Thing That Should Not Be"), a cover gallery, a wrap-around cover, and an introduction by Jason (SWORD OF DRACULA) Henderson... all for under $13. Good gravy... I think I just wet my pants a little. :o We're also currently firming-up plans for the stories that will be in the third collection this winter... and things just keep getting better and better. It's a good day. :p Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |
Aaron, when you get rich and famous and have to have guards outside your house because you fear paparazzi and fans that want to have pieces of your hair-don't ever change, you have the greatest personality, don't ever let it go!
|
Bah, the place never even HEARED of Nightmare World!! What a travesty!!
Im a bit short on dough at the moment, but if you take Paypal, Ill order....something. New collection sounds rather enticing, I dunno which Ill get....but Ill definatly be ordering something in the near future:cool: |

EVER. It's quite sad, really... :p I'm a sentimental fella like that. *sigh* Thanks for the kind words... you rock!!! Best wishes, Aaron Weisbrod |
Just finished reading them ALL over again, trying to decide which is my favourite. I gotta say No One Knows has to be the best, in my opinion...Break Stuff could be a runner up, or The Day I Tried to Live. There's No Room for you Here apeals to the massive superhero fan inside me, and the incredible ending of Mine definatly makes it a conteneder.....aw hell, I cant decide, they're all amazing!

Let the hate-mail begin...

Wow... Lets Have a War had a great ending. And that bonus comic was pretty crazy, too. Oh, and I guess Ill try to see if I can order that deal today/tomorrow, seeing that it expires...I dont think that'll be a problem though. |
Re: Re: Let the hate-mail begin...
Quote:
I'd extend the deal for you without a problem (since you're such a big and vocal NIGHTMARE WORLD fan)... but I only also have four shirts left!!! Best wishes, Aaron |

|
It'll be a sad day when you reach the end man....although your new project does sound promising! I know you wont let your fans down:p
|
Wow...
Freak on a Leash was great, however I have to say it had a very disturbing ending. Nice Work! |
Never the end...
Thanks, man!
I really wanted to go with a "realistic" horror story in FREAK ON A LEASH... I hope I succeeded in freaking people out a bit (no pun intended). :p That aside, the NIGHTMARE WORLD stories these style of NIGHTMARE WORLD stories be running until #50... so don't worry... we've got a while to go yet. HOWEVER, the new series -- which will run alongside NIGHTMARE WORLD "classic" -- starts in June! 6-6-06 to be exact... :D There is going to be a preview image posted soon... and this new series is going to blow people away. :D |
It was looking like I was going to be the only one posting here, nice to see you around these parts again!
