Soundtrack to one of my favorites. The Theme for Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me might be one of my favorite songs of all time. I could listen to it endlessly. |
Nice to see some folk diggin' on Big Star! I just picked up a reissue of #1 Record that was pretty sweet... looks exactly like the original US pressing I used to have.

Been listening this album a lot this week:

------------------------------------- Just picked up the new Joanna Newsom record a few days ago. I think it's great; a good middle ground between her two other albums. http://www.bumpershine.com/wp-images...newsom_cov.jpg |

Currently: http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/be...007/1891-1.jpg Shame that Page split from the group...even though it's one of their most recent, it's got to be among their best work. Love this one. |

Nothing mind-blowing, but still worth a listen, I guess. ------------------------------------------------- http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...sh/dmitgFR.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pf8Sto3fvM...y+MrGuitar.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_uZULIeMXdU...400/GbsuFR.jpg http://www.academyannex.com/blog/wp-...ndmothers1.jpg Hey Elvis, I think you'd dig this. Very cool Swedish acid psych/freak out rock from the late 60s called Baby Grandmothers. Mostly instrumental, fuzz 'n' feeback guitar-driven jams; definitely informed groups like Dungen. Take a listen ! |
Cheers for the heads up man I'm on it now!

Been listening to this a bunch over the last couple of days: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8DPkXRxmOT...ry_-_Front.jpg ...fuck it's good. Hadn't heard it before but it was part of a random bulk lot of records I got in the mail earlier in the week. |
Barenaked Ladies - All in Good Time
Been anticipating this for a long while now...BNL has always been one of my favourite bands, and I've been very curious to see what they would come up with sans co-founder Steven Page. The verdict? Maybe not a new masterpiece, but still a damn good listen with a few tracks that hearken back to some of their best work. Four Seconds wouldn't have been at all out of place on Gordon, for example, and is easily one of the best songs on the disc. Even without Mr. Page, I'd still highly recommend this to any and all fans of BNL. Now, fingers crossed Page lives up to his word and puts out another solo album soon... |

Not sure if I've extended the recommendation around here before, but if not: anyone not familiar with Plaskett's work needs to check him out ASAP. Probably the best songwriter to come out of Canada in decades. Fort, Alky - I'm looking at you. |

To me they sound very much like Brother Firetribe's. Not too odd as both bands are almost swedish. Like it quite a lot. Especially the song "No way without you". Now that's happy metal. :) |
