In total, between the snow we got on Wednesday night and last night, we got around 16" of snow. That's it, I'm definitely moving to Florida!

instead of risking arrest and paying crazy prices for illegal drugs ... why don't people just buy Benylin?

That shit will do you up a treat.

I'm currently stoned out of my gourd at work and all I wanted to do was stop coughing

MichaelMyers 02-14-2014 03:08 PM

Saw Freddy talking about the snowstorm.

Well I've been watching a lot of horror movies lately and I feel very accomplished in a way. =) So far I've seen very little of 2014 films but at least I'm catching up with films from last year.

Back from Johns Hopkins without any major weather incidents. Yay! And best of all, the specialist there said he would perform the new surgery (it involves placing a stent in my tummy) as soon as possible, so I'll probably be going back down to Maryland in 2-3 weeks to have it done. I'm trying very hard to be excited about this, but there's only a 50% chance the stent will help with my illness (gastroparesis), so I'm kinda eh about the whole thing.

I think it's time for a horror movie marathon! That always makes me happy. ::smile::

Thank you, hammerfan! Much appreciated.

Wondering how much of a problem eating the inside of a roach bait would present to a human.

Um, isn't it poison?

cheebacheeba 02-19-2014 06:58 AM

Yeah but like...roach level poison.
I'm sure it'd do nothing good, I'm just wondering if you'd get sick, how, and how much so.

My guess would be that you would get violently sick.

I don't know if this is something you'd be interested in, but as gastroparesis suggests dysfunction or damage to the vagus nerve, biofeedback/visualisation repetition has been successful in regaining new/proper function (such increased/new nerve connections after a stroke), along with diet, exercise, etc. I just googled that, and I see lots of hits from reputable sources, which doesn't surprise me. http://www.hcplive.com/conferences/p...-Gastroparesis

Thanks, Sculpt! I appreciate all the info. Unfortunately, I have tried almost every treatment available (including the few that you mentioned, visualization, diet changes, regular exercise) and I haven't had any success. Also, I probably should have mentioned, my gastroparesis is idiopathic and not the result of diabetes. But I always appreciate any ideas and suggestions. Like the doctor I saw in Johns Hopkins said, sometimes all it takes is a fresh pair of eyes.

from his facebook page on feb. 11th

"This is how my life works.
Something good happens like the new job.
Then the other shoe has to drop.
Last night the monitor on my laptop quit working. So now I have no tv, no computer, no radio, no music, nuthin. Just 5 walls and a light.
Anyone in Portland have a spare laptop I could borrow?"

urgeok2 02-19-2014 06:14 PM

You can get cheap CRT monitors - people throw them away. You just hook it up as an external monitor

A new update today, but sounds like he is going to be MIA from HDC for the forseeable future. Sucks.

NightOfTheLiving_Sam 02-26-2014 03:37 PM

Today is rather gloomy today, however it doesn't seem to bother me too much today. I need a day where I just can kick back and browse online and relax. Listening to soothing music right now and enjoying what I'm listening too. Electro music has been growing on me lately, it always helps me out whenever there's too much on my mind. Right now I'm listening to Expect by Balam Acab: never heard of them before but I'm loving it! ::cool::

Turned 31 on Feb. 18th and I don't even feel that old, I still feel very young inside. Just recently I was talking to my mother and I was telling her how about all the wonderful toys I had as a child. Even the television on Nickelodeon was awesome. I loved growing up in the 90's, and I miss it.

Thats my brothers birthday too. He just turned 29. I'm a 90's kid too. I see the shows my kids watch and it really makes me miss all the shows we had growing up.

I think spring has finally hit. It's been raining almost non-stop here for id say a day or so.

also very random but the other day at work...besides hell (but that's another story) i had Vampire Weekend stuck in my head...and odd too cause I haven't listened to them in a while. But my co-worker had Phil Collins stuck in his head. Yes very random conversations...but it gets better. I had pictured Vampire Weekend singing Phil Collins songs, and Collins singing Vampire Weekend.
Just a little awkward, but it's been worse, and it made the day just a tad bit better.

I have a job interview on Friday. It's a pretty intense 4-hour panel at a software company that develops EMR (Electronic Medical Record) software.

I'm pretty excited about it - I've been at my current company for 5 years now and I've fallen into a rather boring ops role... I'd like to enter into Product Management but I am not interested in my company's product offerings... With the Affordable Care Act, EMR Software is getting more and more sought after.

Plus if I leave, I could angle for a significant raise.

I'm nervous but there's no sense in being crazy anxious so I'm trying to focus on the positive. ::cool::::cool::::cool::

Best of luck to you. The EMR job sounds exciting. At least it won't be boring.
