Nah, I get what you mean...differentiation from "promiscuous" vs "slut"...I think that it'd pretty much come down to prior involvement/relationship of either party, unless the terms of an "open" relationship have been discussed.
Although, don't much see the point of an open relationship...I mean, I "get" it, sure...but I think those involved in them are fooling themselves a little.

its pretty rare that someone doesnt get hurt in an open relationship. invariably one of the couple isnt really into it - they are doing it to try to cling to the marriage.

i think its possible for the right people - but its rare.

I'm cool with sluts, they're what makes the world go round and also the reason we have places to go such as parties and clubs.

If there was no sluts we wouldn't have a lot of these things.

It's a dangerous label, because people have vastly different ideas as to what a slut actually constitutes....I have a little cousin, she's truly a gorgeous girl, and she dresses provocatively. She's been called a slut quite a bit, but in all reality she's probably the ONLY hot 19 year old virgin left in the state of California.
People judge much too quickly on appearances vs actions. If a woman is throwing herself at every man in the bar, I'm way more likely to label her a slut as opposed to a sexily dressed woman who comports herself like something of value. I'm one of those women who prefer hanging out with the guys and there have been times when I was walking down the street with a group of my male friends and got "the look" from a woman or group of women....and it's stupid, because if I were actually fucking my male friends they wouldn't be friends anymore.
One thing I've discovered in hanging out with the boys is they LOVE to talk trash about any easy lays or one night stands they've had. Once that happens, they lose interest quick. However, if you make it clear that you're NOT going to hop in their lap when they try, you have a real friend. Also, you can learn a LOT from a group of guys who have accepted you as a cool human being AND a girl.....some of the things they talk about gives me a real insight into the male creature as a whole, and it's really very helpful when you find one you like lol.

how do you define a slut these days..??
the clothes they wear is a good example..the crowd they hang with is another.
Example being...i have only ever had one chick as a mate...she betrayed me and i have never even considered having another female in my crowd which consists opf males only.
Because of this ..other wimmen folk labelled me a slut..with smarmy remarks like..'watch your man when kats around'..kinda bullshit..thats when i was younger..
however once they got to know me they realised that they were wrong..
and too this day ..em still the same..i will not have another female amongst my crowd of freinds.
