the best you can hope for as an adult is to be slightly disturbed and to enjoy a little food for thought eg. watched session 9 the other day and have been thinking about it ever since. also, wild horses can't drag me back to the passion of the christ. i wouldn't say i was scared at either but i did recently get chills at ju on. maybe some of you guys are desensitised and need to detox for a while, but where's the fun in that.

LOL! Ok, first off...let me say I love both movies. But only one of these movies qualifies as scary. That one is The Ring. Cannibal Holocaust is much more graphic and very disturbing, but not necessarily scary. Lotsa shocking gore/rape scenes does not equal scary.

Dude, from what I know about you and the stuff you watch...I would definitely say watch it. It is a bit shocking, but nothing you can't handle. You have mentioned to me before you have seen some of the Guinea Pig films. If you saw those and liked them, this is not too bad at all. Only things with Cannibal Holocaust, is the animal killings are real (if you care about that sorta thing) and there is alot of graphic rape scenes. But unlike films like Guniea Pig....the movie has a nice (and deep) plot. Give it a watch. It actually has a pretty cool story.

There are scary movies that can scare now... It's just different because everyone's mind has become more exposed to horror, so some things like NOES or Halloween just don't scare some people anymore. Now it's all about torture... torture torture torture. No more nice well done jumps or suspense... torture.

SCARY Films that are recent:

The Descent- scared the fuck outta me
Wolf Creek- Very brutal, realistic, terryfying.
Hostel- I thought it was scary, the idea, and the betrayal, being alone in a different country with no help...
The Hills Have Eyes- Trailer Scene, yes, I was very scared. The last 40 minutes or so has suspense with the kids, but the other guy doesn't have anything scary, just action,

All of those films SCARED me, and they are very recent...

Yeah, I have had some dreams that were 10 times more scarier than most movies I have watched.
