I've met exclusively boring/niche celebrities: Shakespeare scholar Stephen Greenblatt, Paul Zaloom (formerly Beakman on the children's show Beakman's world), children's author Brian Jaccques, one of the Kingston Trio (I can't remember the dude's name), and I had a friend who almost got into a fight with Macaulay Culkin. My mother met Billy Dee Williams at a bar in Arizona while he was filming Jedi. I've only met people who run into weird ass celebrities, and when I was a kid, the guy who created Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Saw Jay Leno driving by in one of his crazy-ass classic cars today.
I haven't gone a week without running into a celeb since I moved here 10 years ago. |

I saw Dustin Diamond at a comedy show here and he was one of the worst, "unfunniest" comedians I've ever seen live (or not live for that matter). I would have rather spent that night raking my lawn.

i walked past a shop window this afternoon and i had to stop and take another look..and em like ...farrrrrrrrrrk Beyonce is that you girl..? Your looking mighty fine girly .. :D 'ok ok..so maybe not exactly Beyonce..BUT CLOSE' :o |
I don't see any celebrities around here.
One time a friend of my dad's was at a bar, talking to the guy next to him. The guy said"hi. I'm Greg Allman." My dad's friend said, "I got a friend that looks more like Greg Allman than you do." Then the guy got up & went on stage. |
We have so many celebrities here, all of different fields. There are actors and actresses and sportsmen and musicians. I had the chance to meet the legendary Zubin Mehta when he came to perform at Bangalore. Very humble and soft-spoken, he is a connoiseur of excellence.

I do the Night Audit at a small 64 room hotel. It's pretty sweet since we're in the suburbs & most of our travelers are just business people on the weeknights (which is when Im there) and they're usually all in bed by midnight. I am always the only person there when I work (no boss breathing down my neck is great!) & I sit at the front desk almost every night from about 12:30 or 1am until about 5am with nothing to do but come on the internet and amuse myself. The job's a piece of cake, but I might be getting promoted to assistant manager in the next few months and then I'd actually have to do work for my shifts as they'd be during the daytime. My brother is Slot Machine shift manager at Harrah's Casino in Tahoe. |
