I think any movie with MORE romance than any other element .....i.e. comedy,action,horror.....would be considered a "chick flick".

Brokeback Mountain,in my eyes, would be a "chick flick".

Pfff, Brokeback Mountain sucked, if it was a man and a woman in that role it would have went unnoticed. By the by, it's funny because my friend and I were just talking about how much we liked the movie Fried Green Tomatoes. That was while we were pre-ranking our fantasy football squads mind you. There are guys that loved The Notebook and there are girls that loved Die Hard, it's unfair to call something a "chick-flick" but it's just as insulting to call a mindless action film a "guy movie".

The term Guy Flick or Guy Litterature doesn't excist. Only Chick flick and Chick Lit. Quite sexist isn't it?

That being said, i'm 100% sure i will never watch Sex And The City. Not even an episode on tv.

"HEMMER: [The] criteria is what for this list?

HOROWITZ: These are movies that guys like, generally that guys can watch in groups, that they remember all the lines [and that] they watch over and over again. It tends to be movies women don't like.

HEMMER: Top three films are?

HOROWITZ: "Dirty Harry," number one. "Godfather," number two. "Scarface," number three."

Jane Austin movies are what I consider chick flicks. That and romance mixed with history.

Pride and Prejudice
Emma
Sense ans Sensibility
The Other Boyln Girl
Chocolat
Little Women
titanic

others I would consider chick flicks are Dirty Dancing and Ghost

See, I liked Chocolat, and was indifferent towards Ghost. Not a fan of Dirty Dancing (either is the wife) or Titanic (which the wife loves) and I don't think I've sat through the others. Little Women was a good book though.

Just take off your wooden shoes, kick your feet up, and read the lists.

I hate Jane Austin movies, I was just using them as an example. Loved Chocolat and Little Women. Titanic was a bore. I think I just like movies Like Dirty Dancing and Ghost for the nostalgic, staying up and watching movies with my parents value. Give me romance along the lines of Shaun of the Dead over strictly romance anyday.

Want me to tuck you in too?

The Breakup was a lot of fun, I think Dan in Real Life was another romantic comedy I enjoyed recently. What about classic romantic comedies like Say Anything? Oh, and The Price of Milk was a little surreal but it was pretty fun too. :)
