Geeze this could have been my paragraph here!..............ditto on all that Stingy! Dying to see the Station Agent!

It was truly a great film. I think the actor who played the dwarf (it's been a while since I saw it, so I don't remember the character's or the actor's name) did an amazing job. Truly a film for those of us who have ever felt shunned from, or looked at as different by society.

I def. am going to see it....hasn't been at our video store I think....or maybe my hub has just been passing it up! :mad:

The Shipping News was also great & The Legend of 1900..........love Tim Roth........underrated actor who is one of the best! Ivinceable is also good. Another Roth flic!

Tim Roth is a fantastic actor. I would love to see him on Inside the Actor's Studio. LOL... They should do a "Character Actors Special" with that show, where Lipton interviews just those actors whose faces you recognize because you see them in everything, but you can never remember their names. William H. Macy was such an actor for a LONG time. He's just recently begun to earn his BIG fame. Another actor is that guy (see? I can't remember his name) who played the protagonist in American Splendor. He's good, too.

Agree......William H Macy was also in a Fest flic I saw that was good not too long ago.....can't recall the name of it..........about a man who becomes shunned by everyone one he knows when he is mistaken for being Jewish............powerful film about discrimination.......If I think of the name I'll tell you..could look it up under Macy movies I guess.......

It's called Focus. And it is a great film. I showed it in class two years ago when I taught The Merchant of Venice.

:D Yeah, I tried to do a whole "Religious Discrimination" theme with The Merchant of Venice. It didn't really work out, though. For some reason, the kids just weren't interested in debating any heavy topics. All they like to debate about is what affects their own immediate interests (like school uniforms or wearing a school ID). It's pretty damned aggravating.

I'm sure we've read a lot of the same material.........I am very well read when it comes to classics.........my last one read was Moby Dyck......loved that book! Just go the urge to read it . After Shipping.... I have To The Light House, and Heart of Darkness.

If i wasn't on here so much.......maybe I'd get through them quicker!LOL!

Looking forward to that AIM! We can argue about Moby Dick. I hated that book! heheheheh I just finished Volume 1 of Wuthering Heights, and have moved on to Vol. 2 (yay for me!) Hopefully, I can get it done and have a unit ready by the time the students start. (stress stress stress stress :eek: )
