But you could be on to something...maybe that's how they suck new "victims" on to the island ;) |
The new LOST was amazing.
Here's my prediction/idea: **SPOILER** I think that the hatch/tunnel/underground lair is Hell. And I think that guy from the stadium is Satan. It's crazy and out there, but... **UNSPOILER** Anyway I can't wait for next week! |

16 DOWN....8 TO GO
Well actually 9...gotta watch the new one. |
First season DONE.
Very good show....good writing, good acting. I can see me getting frustrated trying to following it, now that i can't just pop the next disc in.I'm gonna watch the new season opener tonight and be ready for tomorrow nights show. |
The Island is actually a big ship. It can move back and forward and can sink below the waves if needed.
I base this on the following... How did the Polar Bears get there and a nigerian drug ship if the island is now somewhere in the South Pacific. The answer is that it moved to those places. At some point in time the island was near the arctic or off the coast of Africa. Same applies for how the Black Rock boar got there, the island was somewhere in the Caribbean/Atlantic. When Sayid tried to use the compass he realised that something was throwing the compass off. That would happen if there was a lot of metal nearby (like below them). The tide came in really fast and the people were nearly washed up on the beach - that would happen if the Island started moving in a certain direction and the water would be pushed against the island. How did the black Rock ship come to be Inland? I.e. the ship is not on the coast, but on the land - the island emerged under the ship. The rescue planes could never find the island - the island is not known by any other authorities - the only way to achieve this would be to keep moving the island. Is the cable running off the island - not for power, but for an anchor? (OK, too thin to be an anchor). The black smoke could be for the machinery that powers the island and moves it. The stuff down the hatch could be machinery - everything under the island is metal and machinery. The girl who drowned - did not drown because of a rip tide - she drowned because she went off the very farthest edge of this "ship" - there was not more sea bottom underneath her - only deep ocean. There are two possibilities for all the other factors. 1. The Supernatural (Spiritual) theory. This is somehow the afterlife, or some god factor (remember the Deus Ex Machina episode), or some alien technology or alien ant farm. They all fall under this category. anything supernatural. 2. The Natural Theory. This is the Govt or civilian or criminal conspiracy theory. There is a rational explanation for everything, but it involves genetic experiments, or super technology and all these people are tied together somehow in the conspiracy or derivatives of this conspiracy. There is a rational explanation for the monsters and sickness. Also includes the Pirate Theory. maybe somebody can elaborate on this for me because it is the weakest part. But in this category I put pirates, criminals, etc. the others are the children of pirates, or slavers who were shipwrecked on this "island" a long time ago. they are now into criminal activity, drugs, abduction, etc. The others who captured Walt are simply pirates or criminals. A vast criminal empire - James Bond type arch enemy. into the above three categories the island/ship theory would have to fit. Just thought what you think |
Wow, dude, that's a really, really good idea. Evrythng you said makes perfect sense. I never thought of that, and it's kind of creepy.
That made my morning better man, thanks. P.S. Last night's episode was very good, but there wasn't enough new stuff, a lot was just recaps of last week! |
Nice theory's Phantom.Although i can't agree with the "Island is a ship" idea. If it was some sort of ship that kept submerging and resurfacing, wouldn't the polar bears and Black Rock be washed away.
I think its more along the supernatural lines that have a tie in with Walt. He's reading a comic book with polar bears on the cover and all of a sudden there are polar bears on the island. And what of Locke's ability to walk. And now whats with Desmond showing up......I DON'T KNOW...I'M SO CONFUSED. For the record....when Artz blew up...i jumped of my chair. |
The creators of the show have flat out said it's not an afterlife thing

A dead man's switch has been talked about already - I'd like to expand on the idea a little - linking some facts together.
A similar story was used in The Outer Limits once DEAD MAN'S SWITCH Ben Conklin (JAMES LE GROS) has been a loner ever since his parents died when he was twelve years old. This is one reason why General James Eiger (DONNELLY RHODES) selected him to spend a year buried in a bunker 11,000 feet below the Artic tundra, manning the controls of a doomsday device set up by world leaders after the Hubble space telescope spotted 11 spaceships heading towards Earth. The device is designed as a last-line deterrent against alien invasion and Conklin's job, shared with four other loners in four other bunkers, is to hit a dead man's switch on the bunkers control panel that prevents the doomsday device from going off and destroying aliens and mankind alike. At first, the job is easy, but as the aliens draw closer to Earth, and as Conklin grows closer to his subterranean colleagues, he begins to doubt the reliability of the doomsday machine. News from General Eiger becomes scarce, then Conklin's fellow guardians begin to fall victim to assorted mishaps. Conklin realizes that he carries the weight of the world - and the fate of mankind in the palm of his hand. Now - if Desmond does get infected, he fails to enter the code - and something happens to prevent the spread of the 'sickness'. He did seem surprised that none of the plane crash survivors were not getting sick, so maybe the sickness has gone - however I think the sickness is there and People ARE getting sick. What if the 'sickness' did not start out as a sickness at all, but an experiment into psychic ability or another level of mental being. Fo example, seeing ghosts, creating 'phantom' creatures etc. However it was found that this does other damage and to be unstable and uncontrollable. A huge magnet was installed on the island for it's healing properties and to help 'channel' these abilities - a well known use for magnets. However this magnet also causes navigation equipment (on the island and nearby planes & ships) to go haywire. Healing Magnets: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_healing The shots Desmond takes are just a preventative 'in-case' the sickness gets into the hatch - I know if i was down there I'd want a second fail-safe. It will be interesting to see in the next episode when Desmond leaves the hatch if he starts 'seeing' things. Anyone have any thoughts on this? |
notice the sound of the number thing (the one that was counting down, and then went up to 108 when Locke put the numbers in) sounded a lot like some of the sounds the Monster was making?

I think they're REALLY throwing us off track with the science thing and the logo of the Dharma Project on the sharks tail and all. It sounds like the island was a good place for a science center but something happened to them as well... the island f'd with the scientists too.

Hi
Sorry if i'm repeating anythin people have already said in this thread but I have avoided reading anyones comments cos I don't wanna ruin the suspense. Was just gonna ask has anyone actually seen the end of Lost yet?? I'm really in to it at the mo but I just get the feelin that the ending is gonna die on its arse. They're building it up to be somethin big but what if its a totally stupid explanation at the end? I'm gonna be a bit pissed if its lame. Does anyone else think the same? |
Lost hasn't ended yet, it's gonna run for about 6 seasons

God forbid they don't have an OMG Shocking Moment every episode. I love the fact that this season has had a kindof muted feel to it. It'll make it that much bigger when that timer reaches 0

Yeah well we're still on the first series (or season) in the UK. I didn't realise they're gonna drag it out for so long.
|
I really liked the last episode, kind of calmer but in 3 weeks looks like somebody bites it...

I think last weeks show was the worst all they did was show what happen with the people who were at the back of the plane.
Wish they would hurry up and tell you more about the island than the people who crashed on the island . |
Quote:
Next week seems like we'll get to see the "old cast" again :) |
I hope they reveal more about who those other people are that was already on the island before they crashed .
Yeah your right it was a good they told the story of the other passengers. I just cant wait to see the look on the womans face when she sees her husband is alive. Which she always said from the begining he was alive. |
Quote:
I'm also looking forward to her finding out about her husband...that should make a great episode. |
You know i was just wondering with all those weapons they have why in the hell dont they just take the "Others" out and they wont have to worry about them anymore . Just seems odd they havent thought about that yet . The other wierd thing is why are they letting Cortez push them around doest the Jin know any karate are something
|
Where would they find the others? Just go out looking for them? It doesn't matter how many weapons you have when a trap takes out your tracker and you're stuck in the middle of the island.
|
good show last night.
