yes I did.... more than expected, anakin becoming vader, and......

**spoiler maybe**

..... the way he was rebuilt and suited up, and then realising Padmae was dead, later followed by himself and the Emperor viewing the Death Star construction was bloody good...

also at the end I especially liked the way the interior of the ship was designed in the same style and look as the original star wars films, good continuity, especially the grey uniforms and caps from the originals... remember Peter Cushings uniform etc.

Yes. This movie owned it is easily better then the prequel's and even stack's up to Empire Strike's Back.

My opinion though.

My opinion though.

can agree, was way better than the previous prequals, almost on par with Star Wars (1977). I was a bit disapointed with some of the acting, especially Jackson, McGregor and Christensen.. suprising since jackson is renowned for some superb dialogue scenes, and McGregor was trying to emphasise his accent way too much, it was overdone.

On the whole though, was an enjoyable film, that tied up nicely with the previous three, and dispite any plot holes, was glad I went to see it, since it's been around 22 years since I've seen any starwars film on the big screen :)

here's the deal with the dialogue.

since the beginning (but moreso in the last few movies) the dialogue was somewhat intentionally corny - to sound like the old serial cliffhangers that Star Wars was - in part - modelled after.

in the 1st couple of movies the leads were all played by hungry entheusiastic unknowns ... they put themselves into the roles with all they had and made the dialogue work.

now in the last few films, not only has it gotten worse .. largely in part due to Lucas's obvious lack of interest in his characters ... but you've got seasoned veteren actors saying these awful lines .. like Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor ... they are incapable of making these lines work..
We already know them as actors and what to expect from them .. you cant go backwards with guys like these ..

and Christiensen ... he's just a pitiful actor .. that's all there is to that.
