In all these 50s films the monsters are the real victims.

Just watched Dementia 13 (1963), not sure what was happening entirely but loved the scenery.

The Man With Nine Lives

Got the DVD last night. I had not seen this film since I was 6 or 7 years old. It's a neat little programmer and there is one truly terrifying moment when Karloff decides to experiment on his two rescuers. I was surprised at the tremendous amount of decomposition in the last reel of the film. They obviously used a 1950 nitrate reissue print (with Favorite Films main title).

Boris was so wonderful at making all this scientific mumbo jumbo absolutely believable. Go Cryogenics!

THEM (1954). This was one of my Mom's favorites when she was younger and she said I would really like it when I was 10. Thought it was OK, but not more. Watched it over the weekend and think it is REALLY good. The "Gi-Ants" (showing my FAMOUS MONSTERS background) still look kind of strange, but very strong story and very good turns by James Whitmore and Edmund Gwenn. ****
