I wanted to say that I thought the Argento cut ("Zombi") was pretty entertaining and interesting, featuring not only tons more Goblin music but a lot of the original dialogue as it was recorded during production. In a lot of instances I liked the way the actors delivered the lines better than the way they were eventually dubbed. I know I mentioned this on another thread, or more than one, but I really loved those deliveries!

Very true! This message board has the biggest selection of geeks--I mean, devoted scholars--I've ever seen! Some very smart and educated people here.

Me too. And at just under 2 hours, it was the perfect length. I thought Argento did a great job editing the film.

Dawn of the Dead was co-produced by the Argento brothers, so it was their prerogative to re-edit their film for Europe.

you could say Dawn of the Dead is the same as Zombi 2 which is know known as Zombi here in the states and yes i have seen fulcis zombi i have all five of the zombie movies do not question me for you are wrong
I dread to question you, but how is Dawn of the Dead the same as Zombi 2 when the films have never shared these two titles in either territory?

Ya gotta admit that in the world of zombie movies, if there is a topic that can get confusing, it's this one. You say "Zombie" and folks don't know if you're talking about Zombie, Zombi, or whatever.

I'd rather put it down to Yankee/Euro nuttiness - in the UK, we have Dawn of the Dead and fucking Zombie Flesh Eaters.

Namechanging noobs.

:D

Not very.

You're in luck, pal. Just grab the Dawn of the Dead "Ultimate Edition" 4-DVD set, it features 3 versions of the film (including the Argento cut) and a truckload of extras, enough to choke a horse. Or maybe enough to choke something else.
