Trust me, you would not like to live in the city! Lived there when I was a kid, in one of the most dangerous parts of town. A lot of the people I knew were either killed or injured. Hell, I was threatend to have my head bashed into a brick wall when I was about 6 or 7! Glad I'm not living there anymore!

i lived there for a couble months when i was 12.. loved it.. besides that sort of thing does not bother me. I would just have to avoid alleyways and gangs.. if possible, anyway it would only be temporary until i coulkd buy a niceer home. wait YOU were threatened:confused: for what a candy bar ( thats not a joke people have been killed for far stupider things)

It's pissing it down (big suprise!) outside, but there are a few sunbursts trying to get through... I can see all over belfast as I live in a block of flats. Sun is shining over the lough, really pretty, and a huge flock of birds is hovering over the landfill. There's a fire in the distance, and a helicopter in the sky...

lots going on actually...?

Ok

The sky is a television grey here in Connecticut. The wind is blowing as if Satan himself was turning a fan. I'am at work at the moment working on the busniess end of sewing machine but through the shop windows I can see cars going while trash blows around. It's about 30 degrees here & the sky looks threatening. Theres no leaves on the trees & as far as I can see winter is still in full effect. The bank across the street is full of cars & the drive through is wall to wall people going through the daily grind of life. The its 1:00 pm here & my chicken sandwich has just let me know that I've eaten way too fast..:o Meantime I'am waiting for psiren's call from the U.K. & somedays it's the highlight of my day.
At other times it's as if humanity unloads on my doorstep but with the wind thats not going to be today. I've got to pickup some baked beans for tonight. Sometimes on the busy road out front theres an accident & the cops stop traffic. Theres some bits of excitement in this life of mine. Little bits of snow fall & wonder if it will stick? :)

I took my two dogs out to the waterfront this morning. Although I come from Liverpool I now live on the other side of the River Mersey on the Wirral peninsula (those unfamiliar should check an atlas!)
The promenade and beach we walk down is directly across from Liverpool city centre with its beautiful 'Three Graces' buildings.

The Royal Liver Building (pronounced Lie-VER), the Cunard Building and the Mersey Docks & Harbour Building.

Sometimes, on clear days, you can see a massive wind farm miles off the coast, ships and boats constantly travelling up and down the river. Its a nice walk, especially for the dogs!

LM, how is it in N. Ireland these days? You guys have been pretty low key. Are things more peaceful?

You guys definitely rock for pledging your support after 9/11. As an American, I appreciate that. I thought that was really cool, especially because we were never there for you much, which is a shame. Thanks for sending us some love.

(By the way, I did a huge report on N. Ireland when I was in high school. Just wondered how you were all doing).

I wish I had seen this thread four days ago...

I was in New Orleans, Tulane to be exact. But a few miles down was the really devastated area. I took some pics, I'll post em' when I can.

Like I said, I lived in the most dangerous part of town. And I was threatened for "supposedly" slamming a backyard door (though it always makes a loud bang). The lady who lived there worked third shift, and it was her house. She opened here window and said "If you slam that door again, I'm going to slam your head into a brick wall!". Now remember, I was only about six years old, so this frightened me.
