his 1st few albums are instrumental (they're my favorite)

they're natural horror soundtracks ..

he plays a modded electric violin and mandolin .. the sounds are modded and layered .. it's impossible to describe ..

Later he started doing vocals and his songs became more rock-oriented .. but his early instrumental stuff is what grabbed me.

If this guy was american instead of canadian .. he's be mentioned along with Tangerine Dream and Danny Elfman as a top choice for film soundtracks.

If anyone ever makes a proper Lovecraft movie .. this would be the guy to score it.

Rich, deep, haunting, threatening scores .. nothing cheap sounding .. he's the real deal.

yeah i love that movie ..

there are 6 must have Don Knotts films.

The Ghost and Mr Chicken
The Shakiest Gun In the West
The Love God
How To Frame a Fig
The Reluctant Astronaut
The Incredible Mr Limpet.

i think most have been released since his death in a box set.
I tracked them all down individually before that.

Mr Chicken will always be a favorite .. but How to Frame a Fig is hands down - the funniest ...
it has a lot of the same bad guys that you see in the old Disney Dexter Riley movies (computer wore tennis shoes..etc)

Not being a dick, but try to keep anything made after the year 1969 in the "Modern Horror Movies" section.

It keeps things neat-o!

I havent seen that one yet. There's a crazy old flick from 1934 also called Maniac...very, very strange film, but it's pretty fun to watch.

I actually found Maniac to be extremely overrated, especially after seeing it in a book as one of the 10 most disturbing movies ever made.

It was kind of boring and a little silly, to be honest. Very low-budget feel that didn't fit quite right.

The only scene I liked was the end. Maybe worth a viewing for that.

You talking about the 80's one? I cant really imagine the '34 version being on any kind of top 10 list:p

The Haunting (1963)

Truly a horrifying film. Watch this alone in the right room with the right mood and the atmosphere is absolutely terrifying.

I got a chance to see this on the big screen, ay a vintage theater called the Music Box Theater in Chicago last year. Awesome experience.
