"Rambo 4" 7/10

What a lovely movie of death.

Seriously tho, except for the horrible lines and dialogue it was quite entertaining all the way through thanks to the massive use of extreme violence. If it hadn't been this graphical i think i would've been bored to sleep.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon: 8/10

I LOVED this. It was so much like Scream, with a bit of a Blair Witch twist. Highly recommended.

Spoiler!*********************

I thought the highlight of the film was when she says:

"You're the virgin!"
"HA!"
"Fuck you bitch!"
"yeah, you would!"

End************

Was definitely an awesome flick.

Matchstick Men. Tad bit predictable.
Cronenberg's Crash. Loved it. Also, let it be known that Elias Koteas is one of my favourite actors. Especially in Exotica and Ararat because I'm a big Atom Egoyan fan.

No Country for Old Men is awesome.
Javier Bardem is perfect.
That is all:p

The Eye 2008

Garbage.
You with with a payroll that is 10 million dollars more than the Chinese original then it would at least be on par with it.
Guess not.

Not gonna lie... The thing I liked the best out of the whole film was the first sex scene. The rest was kind of... What the hell was that? I expected more. Otherwise it was watchable.

Cloverfield.
Nauseating camera work but good overall.

Sleepaway Camp III

Haunts ~ one of the films on the 50 Chilling Classics we bought awhile back. The quality isn't great, of course, the acting was passable at times, but pretty bad overall. Some of it was just unintentionally funny. And there was way too much going on. All that being said, there were flashes of a decent movie at times. The story really had potential, and was quite intriguing at times.

jaybomb 02-04-2008 01:34 PM

Just watched Straw Dogs...I heard this movie is pretty intense, and i must agree...Can't picture Dustin Hoffman in that kind of role, which is why it probaly worked for me...good movie and crazy in the last half hour

Sweeney Todd

Absolutely Fooking Brilliant!

Seriously, the best film Tim Burrton has ever made or will ever make...

9.5/10

Staplez 02-04-2008 05:48 PM

Really?

I was debating going to see that. I kept putting it off and now thier not showing it anymore, around here anyway.
Hate that I missed it now.

Sucks to be me. Ill catch it on dvd though.

Posher778 02-04-2008 06:14 PM

El Mariachi- 4.5/10

I'm sorry, but that was pathetic. I can't believe that is a Rodriguez film. Desperado and Once Upon* were so many times better than that... I hated it.

I loved Sweeney Todd but Burton's best? I don't know, I'm VERY excited to see his version of Alice in Wonderland!

Lemme get this straight...out of the entire movie, you liked the sex scene best? Cmon Posh...Dellamorte Dellamore is one of the best black humor horror movies ever made. Geez...

Beowulf.

For the most part its entertainment galore, but overdose of CGI can be annoying. The casting is spot-on and the direction is really commendable. Ray Winstone and Crispin Glover are the two standout performers. I had a fun time watching Grendel and Beowulf slug it out, and then Angelina Jolie in all her exoticness (even in CGI) dominate the latter part of the movie.

Its a fun movie. If you want entertainment and tons of it, give it a shot.

Rating - ***1/2

It was funny! It was entertaining and spontaneous. But yeah... The sex scene. Sorry. In a graveyard with a dark woman at night. *dies*

He made an action flick with guns and stunts (including sliding down a wire and slamming into a moving bus) for $4000.

That's what made him an instant star because he showed amazing ingenuity and visual flair on a budget of nothing. No one makes an action film for $4000 quite literally 1/100 of what would be considered a "low budget film."

The story was weak, I give it huge props because the imagery and themes are like a tex-mex filtered spaghetti western and the story is the first film in the Trilogy that continues with Desperado & Once Upon a Time in Mexico which were made with Millions of dollars.

I understand not thinking it was awesome, because it ain't, but it is an important film.

I just watched
Black Book

Paul Verhoeven's Dutch language WWII themed flick is a gem. And excellently complicated tale with relentless action, tension, tragedy, sex and actual (and unexpected) romance. Some of Verhoeven's best work, and I say that as a fan. The Acting is top-notch. The more I contemplate it, the more I like it.

9/10

Kane_Hodder 02-04-2008 09:11 PM

The Toolbox Murders remake.
Better than the original in more ways than one.

Psycom5k 02-04-2008 11:46 PM

[·Rec] - Awesome movie, it's a spanish zombie movie. Had me glued to my seat. 9/10

ShortBus - Wow.... I just couldn't get past the first 10 minutes, there must be something about a guy blowing a load in his own face that I just can't watch(I'm serious, I starteg gagging and had to turn off the movie). 1/10 (I like to think of myself as open minded, but I just couldn't watch the rest)

Butterfly Effect 2.
While I didn't mind this film much at all, I feel that the first one definately had the edge...how gritty, hopeless and chilling the storyline/s of the first film were was something that has made it stand out to this day...the second one, just felt like "so what" for me.
It was ok, that's about it.

jenna26 02-05-2008 08:07 AM

Good luck Chuck ~ I didn't find this movie funny at all. The fact that the main character (a dentist in his thirties) actually liked the guy that was his best friend, actually made me dislike HIM...:p

Hey, you need to learn that guys are different when it comes to friends, we won't get rid of them unless they actually do something worth of getting rid of them. Unlike women who hate one person one week and "absolutely adore" them the next.

Yes, because that is exactly how all women are....
And I am pretty sure that me finding two characters, and their actions, in a movie unlikeable and unfunny doesn't mean that I "need to learn" anything.
