Have you seen Santa Sangre? Its pretty cool his films are having a bit of a revival.

Kane_Hodder 04-15-2008 07:06 AM

The Boston Strangler.
Very interesting insight into the mind of one of the most demented murderers in history. Tony Curtis was great.

Santa Sangre wasn't like has other films, it actually made a tad bit of sense.

i think its a sin to say jodorowsky makes lynch look like walt disney. they have very different styles

One of my top ten favorites of all time. It's simply a flawless, larger-than-life movie, and Chaplin's very best.

True enough...I love 'em both and actually far prefer David Lynch, I was just talking about the level of "fucked-up-ish-ness".

Juno- 9/10

Still just as awesome.

It's really graphic, but if you can get over it I think you'll find a pretty good movie.

Do alot of "slow" people die in that movie?

The Shining

Assertion 04-15-2008 05:30 PM

shutter, the bank job, and *oh yes* Sweeny Todd...

To all of you fans of the unholy trinity that is tim burton, danny elfman, and johnny depp, may you live in your self-made prison forever.

To what matters;

Bank job was okay, but it lacked something a jason statham film usually has... explosions? regardless, worth the ticket, maybe not the dvd.

Shutter was good, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. the rape might have been the issue, but what i really think bothered me was the general stereotype against Asian horror films. I don't think that it's bad to use somethings over and over, like features of the object you should fear, but it does grab at monotony sometimes

Despare 04-15-2008 09:32 PM

Justice League: The New Frontier

With so many poor attempts at adapting this material to live action films and shorts it's a little surprising to me that an animated feature not only thrills more capably than those botched efforts but also tells a more mature story. I really enjoyed this one and I've never been a follower of the comics so I can't tell you how faithful it is to the source material but I can tell you that it's a well paced animated feature that doesn't insult the viewers intelligence. The social commentary wasn't very well masked but in the end it didn't really distract from the overall feel of the experience.

No, but you see a guy suck his own cock and bust a nut in his own face,

Cobra

A total bloosthristy classic, Brain Thompson is great as The Night Slasher.
Suprised no one's mentioned this film since the new Rambo flicks been out. There really similar in tone. The cover is fuckin' dope too glad they haven't changed it from the classic design for the DVD release.

Not nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna be, based on its premise...Turned out to be pretty damned good, actually.

Loved it when it first came out....watched it a couple of months ago and found it laughable.

Always wearing his oversized sunglasses, leather gloves, toothpick in mouth....bad soundtrack.....a real 80's feel.

I suppose it has it charms but I just didn't think it aged well.

Yep, today it is dated alright.

But for us lovers of 70s and 80s cinema, it was a blast.

Man, did he rock! :D

urgeok2 04-16-2008 08:38 AM

i didnt like it at all when it came out..

i was at a point where i wanted something smarter in an action film.

i dont mind it now for cheese value but i'll never consider it a 'good' film.

(2 dimentional characters, lame pedestrian plot)

i like villians with a bit more depth

last seen - an episode of Brisco County Jr.

man my kid loves this show (as does my wife)

I feel the same way. I watched it on cable a few months ago, and it was 80's super cheese. Sly still rules though...."You're the disease, I'm the cure". :D

Tonight should be fun...I'm watching Sweeney Todd in a couple minutes (second viewing - PUMPED!), then later I'm going to finish Holy Mountain.

Huh..good to know. I've been thinking about checking that one out, sounded rather interesting...guess I'll steer clear now :)

Just re-watched the Burton/Depp version of Sweeney Todd...God I love that movie.

Not too much of a surprise. I would love to shoot Gus Van Sant in the face.

...

I just tried watching 2 horror moves tonight, but struck out for both of them:

April Fools Day - somehow turned up on the Netflix queue. I blame the boyfriend for that one, and he didn't even watch it. D-

Nine Lives - Free fearnet On Demand... I want my money back. D+

newb 04-16-2008 07:30 PM

flipped around on cable....not in the mood for a movie.
