Doctor Who: The Angels Take Manhattan
It's going to be impossible to talk about this without giving something away. So only highlight the following text if you don't mind spoilers.
Spoiler starts-This is the final episode of this section of the latest series and what a phenomenal episode it is! There is a air of death hanging throughout and it was such a huge shame that it was only 45minutes long as they crammed so much into it, that it was impossible for them to truly explore the emotional and profound implications of having two lead characters die at the end. It did try it's best to do it justice but the time constraints are very evident however this didn't ruin my enjoyment of it. You are aware as I said that death is hanging here. There have been subtle hints throughout the series that someone was going to die and you spend the whole episode trying to guess who will. On reflection I realise that they very cleverly tell you what is going to happen but as The Doctor is spending the whole episode trying to change the future, you can never be too sure what is going to happen and this makes for a very thrilling edge of your seat experience. The writing is superb and The angels are as terrifying as ever. As I expected they are not here for the sake of it, there is fresh life given to them in the form of child angels and the actual statue of liberty! Riversong is here as well giving another faultless performance by the actress. There's more mind-expanding concepts than you can shake a stick at as characterized throughout the matt smith/Anmy/Rory era and what a fitting finale this is to it! This show is very progressive and from here on it is entering new unknown territory and I'm very excited to see where it goes in the future. Spoiler end.
The next episode is going to be the xmas special and I'm worried that there is going to be another big gap before we see more episodes. I guess I will have to be patient.
