Hehe. Can someone tell me what I did wrong above? I found this thread on page 10. I didn't want to start a new one. :)

You need to include the entire url to your picture, starting with http://

The website doesn't know where to find the picture on the internet if you just put the name of the file.

NE, I have lost my access to my "uploader" and I was trying to avoid using photobucket or another one. My website of images doesn't load as slowly as photobucket so those with dial-up don't have to wait as long to see my pics.

neverending 10-15-2008 07:44 PM

You still need to put the entire url to the picture if you want people to actually SEE the picture instead of the name of the picture.

OK. When I went to upload the pic, it gave me the upload from your computer option. I moved in Dec. '07 and I packed up my file transfer protocol (FTP) CD. I guess I'll have to dig it out, if I can find it. Thanks.

Chrono, I LOVE your sphynx. I've always wanted one. I've currently got two cats and a blind cocker spaniel (down from 5 cats and 1 cocker). I've posted the dog with devil eyes here for your amusement.

Aww, what a cutie! Where's pics of the cats? *asks the cat-lover*

Dahlia 10-17-2008 12:40 PM

Still in need of uploading...but I'm a cat person more than a dog person...

hammerfan 10-17-2008 12:57 PM

We're inheriting another kitty tomorrow. My nephew is losing his house and can't take his cat with him, so sis and I are taking her in. I think I talked about this before.......(damn menopausal brain) :D

Her name is Cherokee, she's 9 years old and I'm really nervous as to how she and my other cat Lucy are going to get along. I'm not worried about Logan - she's about as laid back as you can get for a cat. Lucy, on the other hand.....

ChronoGrl 10-17-2008 03:50 PM

Thanks, Dahlia!! We just picked her up from her spay appointment and everyone at the vet LOVES her... She's such a sweetie... When she's not at home (the beast!!)

...

Though she takes flattery well...

I second that... Your dog is an absolute SWEETIE!... But I want to see the kitties, too. :D

Hammerfan - Good luck with the new kitty!!!

My GOD she is adorable... How old is she?

...

Ripley hopped in the laundry basket this morning and I just couldn't help myself... The contrast between the blue of the basket, the blue of the towels, and the pinkness of her skin was just too good not to shoot.

I was trying to capture true contrast along with the details of her wrinkles. The first couple of shots didn't come out that great because I turned off the flash and my camera doesn't have the best shutter speed, but here goes...

An attempt to capture blue towel, blue basket, and blue eyes):

http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/41...500x500Q85.jpg

You see more of her pink wrinkly skin details...

http://inlinethumb27.webshots.com/43...500x500Q85.jpg

Turned the flash back on, so this one isn't as blurry... My absolute FAVORITE of the bunch:

http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/42...500x500Q85.jpg

And, finally, a study of the naked feline form... I like this photo because it actually manages to capture the little veins on her legs.

I have no pics, but my moms poodle just had puppies. They are soooo cute:)

That cat is so cute, CG! Do you know why I couldn't use the "upload from computer" function? I thought it might have something to do with the size of my pic but it only said that the upload failed.

Thanks ChronoGrl, we think she's 4 now.
She's a rescue so we don't know her actual birthday...but we make one up and spoil her instead!
:D

Even though we've had her a couple of years now, I still worry everytime she goes out the catflap!!!.....will I ever stop panicking?:(

Nella 10-18-2008 10:46 AM

Mr. Lee, I didn't scroll far enough up to read the titles of the pics. I just saw Chronogrl's avatar. YOUR cat is adorable. I've never seen anything but pictures of a hair-less cat. :) Do you like dogs?

Mr Lee 10-18-2008 11:00 AM

hehe, Hi Nella :)

Yeah, I like dogs too...I miss my dog very much.
I love all animals (maybe too much as my partner thinks I love Tabitha more than her...lol)

My family accuses me of liking my dogs more than them. I can't imagine that! They aren't really and truly animal lovers.

Thanks! Yes, my cat is the cute naked one... Lee's is the cute furry one. :D

In terms of pics... You won't be able to upload them if you want to add them to a thread. You'll want to get an account at a website that hosts images (I use www.photobucket.com for my random forum images and www.webshots.com for my online photo album that I share with my friends and family). Once you have an account at one of those sites, you can upload your photos there. When you upload them, they will now be hosted by the site and the site will give you a URL for your pictures. Once you have the URL of the pic you want to post, click the Image button in your thread post. The button will pop a window where you can directly paste the picture's URL. Clicking "OK" will add HTML image tags to your picture's URL, so when you click "Submit Reply," the photo will show up.

OMG - I am the BIGGEST worry-wart with my kitty. Every time she sniffles, sneezes, is too hyper, is too drowsy, is too cold (I am currently freaking out about how she's going to fare come winter!!! I'll have to dress her), I immediately start worrying. No, it does NOT go away. hahaha - But she's an indoor cat, so that alleviates some of it.

...

Pink - I want puppy pics!!!!! :D

Thanks. I guess I'll have to use photobucket after all. I have my own site with lots of things on it. I've even used my own smileys here. The problem is that I don't have access to my FTP CD. (I moved and it's still packed up somewhere.) I want to be able to upload more stuff to my site. Is photobucket still free? Have you had trouble with it loading your pics slowly or the site being down a lot?

Nella 10-18-2008 11:30 AM

Gosh I need to get some sleep! I thought I clicked the quote button for your post above the last one. Oh well.

If you have your own website, you should be able to right-click on your photos, and select Properties. That should give you a URL you can use to copy+paste. And Photobucket is free.

CG, that's not a problem at all for me. The problem is that I can't upload new photos without the CD.

so your'e missing the driver for your camera? try googling the camera name and seeing if you can download the driver online of that's the case. If not I'm not sure what you're talking about.
