I think Empire of the Sun is one of the best WWII movies ever made. It was a very different perspective.
My two cents. |
that tom cruise smile, don't you just want to put a steel cap through it?

who are you miss olivia? empire is a terrible movie, but read the book, J.G. Ballard, and then read his follow up novel. it's all based on his child hood. what more could inspire a writer. he was once asked to write the novelisastion of alien but he turned it down.... i want to know you miss....

LOL I read the book as well, and I loved it.
The first time I saw the movie I was in my early teens, and it affected me pretty deeply. I didn't really understand yet that things like that happened in the world. When I read the book, I was older, and I appreciated the differences....but I still loved the movie. |

Well that's about as outta nowhere as it gets. |
miss olivia I'm with you there, Empire of the Sun is a cracking film. Okay, it's a bit Spielbergy in places, but being a Spielberg film, I guess he has the right.
Plus - Equilibrium was great, plus it didn't rip off the Matrix, unless wearing long black coats counts. It invented gun-fu darnit! Plus, I like seeing people get their heads sliced in two. Anyway - innit time for another match-up? |
Since we're into this ranking of the Batman films, here's my list (not including Batman the Movie with Adam West since I have yet to see it):
Batman Batman Returns Batman Forever Batman & Robin Batman Begins Let the flaming begin... |

I loved the OG Batman movie. It's campy and fun, and I loved the series. Burgess Meredith was awesome as the Penguin.
His penguin submarine was the best. |
The only Batman movie I ever liked was with Michael Keaton. The rest were just horrible.
