Tonight, I’ll probably watch the 1930s Lionel Atwill horror movie Dr. X.

"The Raven" (1963)
-Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre

In this tongue-in-cheek movie inspired by Poe's poem, Dr. Craven is the son of a great sorcerer (now dead) who was once himself quite skilled at that profession, but has since abandoned it. One evening, a cowardly fool of a magician named Bedlo comes to Craven for help- the evil Scarabus has turned him into a raven and he needs someone to change him back. He also tells the reluctant wizard that Craven's long-lost wife Lenore, whom he loved greatly and thought dead, is living with the despised Scarabus.

I've always loved this movie. Despite the fact it's more like a "Dr. Strange" comic than Poe's poem. It's a lot of fun to watch

The Creeping Flesh- wonderful little non-sensical number starring Cushing & Lee. Cushing an obsessed scientist, Lee as the head of an insane asylum. Cushing has this bizarre skeleton of a prehistoric creature that he is trying to bring back to life by.... rubbing water on it!

It's a lot of fun and pretty cheesey- even by the standards of the day.

The Creeping Flesh is a great film... right down to the "twist" at the end.

Just finished watching Dracula, Prince of Darkness. Follow-up to Horror of Dracula, this one misses out on Cushing and any dialogue from Lee. Still, an enjoyable entry into the Hammer Dracula saga.
