Just watched Autopsy..I liked this one :D

The Wrestler. First watch. Thought it was pretty good. Solid cast, great peformance from Rourke. Simple story, nicely directed.

You are the ONLY OTHER ONE (besides me and my boyfriend) who've admitted to liking that movie... I thought it was fantastic.

Tokyo Zombies-I was warned I wouldn't like it,but they were rather wrong.

I'd find more interesting to see if the killer used some real Tarantulas (like the scene from Fulci's The Beyond) on his/her victims rather want to see them as defeated Tarantula against a killer wasp.:) Anyway, it's still a fine Giallo.

Brother (2000). This Yakuza flick from Kitano may not be his absolute best, but it might just be his most violent. It might also be one of the most open display of fatalistic and grim humor as compared to his other flicks. The story itself is about honor, holding true commitments, and being true to oneself, even when that truth will but lead to heartbreak and suffering. This was a nice breakthrough for Takeshi in that he succeeds in the East meets West type of flicks, where such a pairing only leads to violent chaos. Overall a fun watch, albeit a tad violent. Merci beacoup.

Dusted off the original Nightmare on Elm Street last night. Havent seen it in years and wanted to refresh before the remake came out. Still holds up really well, even though you cant say the same for most of the sequels.

Most of those haven't dated well at all with the exception of Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

Ill give you that one, turned out really well. I wasnt planning on going back to any of the sequels but now that you mention it I think I might pop that one in tonight.

I didnt even like the other ones when I was a kid. Should probably give them another look some day, but its not high on my to-do list.

I like the first two flicks a bunch and to a certain extent the third but I thought the series went downhill when they brought in the wisecracking comic styled Freddy.

Although all the murders happened off-screen, may be the twists at the end were bit funny & confusing as well as also may be not one of Bava's finest works like Bay of Blood or Blood & Black Lace but still, I think it's a pretty unusual but an amusing Giallo piece from him & that makes it stand out from his any other reputed films. Moreover, for me it's got my favorite Eurobabe Edwige Fenech in it..who alone was enough for to make & feel any movie a better movie.:)

Hills Run Red (2009). This was a simple backwoods horror flick done right. Not lacking in gore or brutality, the direction of this one is what seems to shine the most. As well, the cast really enjoyed working together, and this is almost palpable in this fun, sick thriller. The acting was solid for the genre, and the story itself decent enough. There are even some well received, gratuitous boob shots. Even the end credits were entertaining. All in all a must see for fans of the genre. Ashe.

In the Mouth of Madness

Personally, I find this film to be one of my favorite John Carpenter films. The atmosphere that this movie greats is fairly unsettling and is a great ode to Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft. I felt that the movie was also aesthetically pleasing with the creatures and such that slowly revealed themselves in the movie.

"Frostbiten" 8/10

Yet another good vampire flick from my swedish neighbours.

I really like In The Mouth Of Madness too. One of my favorites actually. I haven't seen Frostbitten, have to try to find that.
I watched one this morning that I've already forgotten the name of on FearNet. It had Amy Smart in it and her and her boyfriend go to China and these Chinese zombies??? were after them.

Guess I shoulda paid better attention.

Ghoulies IV, This 4th classic installment is a sexy sequel in a way with some little hot leather!!!

Kick-Ass!!!

Streets of Fire.............badass 80s action flick starring a young Dianne Lane and William DaFoe. Has one great fight scene...........recommended

Slightly disappointed by the way they tried to explain everything that happened in the first one, but a very decent watch nonetheless. A cameo which was unnecessary, and a twist which gave off an outlandish vibe. Its still fast-paced, very atmospheric and quite a solid little sequel.

Or maybe its just me and the high expectations I had going into this after the uber-high bar set by the original. Hope #3 lives up to the original a wee bit more than this one.

What Have They Done to Your Daughters? (1974)

An exceptionally above average Giallo with a nice blend of poliziotteschi flavor from the very beginning and that kept till the end with a fantastic pace. Liked it even more than its earlier What Have You Done to Solange? as I think this one comes with a better story, great score, fine cast and Dallamano's masterful camera works.

"Date night" 4/10

Yet again i fail to see Carell's talent for comedy. I just don't find him very funny.

Sure it doesn't help when the movie sucks as much as Date Night. In fact the highlight for me was the couple's serious talk in the car about their relationship. That will probably be the only thing i'll remember from this movie in about a week. That and Wahlbergs upper body.

The Meat Grinder (2009)

Lately having some problems with the dvds of Asian films. Some of them are coming out without English subtitles and it was one of them! But I gave it a shot last night and just watched the whole film without understanding a single line.:D But as a psychological splatter flick it wasn't that difficult to follow as I thought it'd be.

It's like a Thai version of a Sweeney Todd tale in the form of a female psychopath who grinds her victims into meatballs for noodle soup.
The story centers around Boot, a single mother (who has a tortured & abused past) running a small noodle cart. When a dead guy ends up inside the cart one day she decides to see it as an opportunity and comes up with a new recipe! The bloodiness just escalates as more prey turn up, motivating Boot to expand her business from street-side noodle cart to a full-fledged restaurant business. Complications arise when she meets and falls for a young man who she met during a student riot.
This is obviously only a film for those with the strongest of stomachs. It is certainly nice to see some substance along with the splatter, and this elevates the film from being a mere gruesome freak show into something quite engaging. A solid mix of extreme gore and psycho character drama which is visually a nice treat indeed, specially for the jaded gorehounds.

I like to recommend it to Ferox, Elvis, V, Angra, Chrono & any other HDCian who don't mind to see some human body parts floating around in a blood shower frequently on screen.

I though it'd be a typical giallo. But despite adopting some of the conventions of the genre...the mystery maniac and tragic back-story, this is not a body-count movie and there is no black-gloved assassin. However it's a pretty fine & atmospheric 70's Euro horror with a good spooky story. Liked it.

I Sell the Dead (2008). This was a delightfully comedic horror flick. While the story itself was rather simple, the strength of this lovely film lies in the charming fashion in which the tale unravels, told in an appropriately choppy fashion. The back story itself develops into a minaciously driving force. The acting was perfectly solid, with great direction and editing as well. Mixing horror with comedy is more than just making a sloppy film, and this little tale was created with aplomb. Merci beaucoup.

Young Frankenstein- such a classic and funny movie
Silent Hill- Perfection. I mean it, I have no complaints about this movie. The atmosphere is soo creepy, and close to the games. I love it.

Dario Argento has such a way with atmosphere.

I confess I have never read the book, and that turned out to be an advantage. What a wonderful story, and equally well-filmed. Scorcese uses the talents he showed in Cape Fear to the full here. A superb, taut and gripping mystery-thriller which goes through several bizarre and shocking twists till the end comes, which reveals one final, mind-numbing twist itself, leaving you with more questions than answers. I will be going ga-ga about Shutter Island for awhile - it's just the huge Hitchcock fan inside me.

Laeddis, Rule of 4, #67, Spring 1952. No idea what I am talking about? Watch the movie. Highly recommended.

Pierce Brosnan playing a very good Tony Blair character in a very enjoyable film. Loved nearly every moment of it, and whilst I felt the characters could have been defined a bit more I would definitely watch it again.

I was pleasantly surprised, it was pretty decent.

Went to see Kick-Ass last night. I haven't read the comics but I found the movie really enjoyable.
