....."And yet I saw them in a limitless stream- flopping, hopping, croaking, bleating- surging inhumanly through the spectral moonlight in a grotesque, malignant saraband of fantastic nightmare."...H.P.L.

Dark Dance by Tanith Lee. Vacillates between really good and meh.

anglewitch 02-02-2015 12:31 PM

Death in The Air by Agatha Christie

Dead Bad Things 02-02-2015 08:43 PM

"Just where the supreme horror lay, I could not for my life tell; yet there swept over me such a swamping wave of sickness and repulsion-such a freezing, electrifying sense of utter alienage and abnormality-that my grasp of the wheel grew feeble and uncertain. The figure beside me seemed less like a lifelong friend than like some monstrous intrusion from outer space-some damnable utterly accursed focus of unknown and malign cosmic forces." H.P.L.

Read Intensity a long time ago (primarily because of the cool cover!) and it was pretty good. What are your top 5 by him?

winter moon, fear nothing, from the corner of his eye, velocity and the odd thomas series as a whole. i think my favorite thing about koontz is his dialogue, he writes dialogue brilliantly.

Fiction: The Tommyknockers by King. Tough to get thru and I luv King
Fiction: Murder Red Ink by Mcghee. Creepy Jack the ripper gross (that's good to me!) was on sale but I want the paperback. Borrow able
Nonfiction: the Demon of Brownsevulle Rd by Cranmer. Weird so far.
Might start that new Rule book next.

TheBossInTheWall 02-19-2015 08:18 AM

Dark Dance by Tanith Lee. It keeps giving the impression its going to be one thing, but turns out to be different. Really good. The cover implies lots of sex, but its very deceiving. My guess is they wanted to get people to buy the book 'cause of teh sex.

Dead Bad Things 02-24-2015 10:59 AM

This one just came in for me at the library.
The lesser dead: Christopher Buehlman

I'm currently reading The Ruins by Scott Smith and I just love it! It's an astonishing book!

FryeDwight 03-11-2015 02:06 AM

Have THE RUINS, but have yet to read it. Enjoyed the film, though.

Almost wrapped up THE SHINING and started NOTHIN' TO LOSE, another early KISS years book, but for three dollars, really couldn't pass on it. Entertaining so far and lots of great photos.
