Good luck to everyone who goes for it. Judging by the people that are interested, I'd say no matter what we are going to get a worthy Mod who will do the job well.

But I thought only Horror could make new mods? Has he come back?

I'll repost this for you- you seem to have missed it:

The Details

We need 2 new moderators.

We encourage members to nominate people in this thread along with listing qualities that they would look for in a moderator, so that we can get an idea of what the forum wants.

We need anyone who is interested in being a moderator to send an application in a PM to HDC Mods listing reasons why they feel they would make a good moderator here.

We are looking for people who will be impartial, keep all personal feelings out of their moderating decisions, try to attend the forum on a daily basis (we do understand that sometimes life gets in the way), feel confident that they can learn how to use the various moderating tools here, someone who has no plans to leave the forum anytime soon and can work with current moderators to discuss possible actions, complaints, or concerns.

After we have received 6 valid candidates, we will create a poll to allow the forum to vote.

The two people who receive the most votes will be our new moderators, dependent upon our administrator's participation. The administrator (Horror) has been made aware of our intentions, and as of yesterday is on standby.

The forum will soon be switching to a new format (yes, another upgrade), and we expect to have the new moderators added at or before the time the upgrade is completed.

We want to try to do this as quickly as possible while we are in contact with our administrator.

Thanks for your participation.

Ah, thankyou. Missed that part of the post. The upgrade bit is a tad scary. Although maybe it will make posting pictures and getting new avatars easier.

I'd vote for Doc, newb, and Flayed simply for the fact that I've never noticed any one of them direct unkind comments to anyone in particular. They seem fair in all their posts and threads. Since newb said he wouldn't be here much, Vod would be great. I think he also posts regularly and he's kind. We don't need anyone who plays favorites or praises bad behavior from long-time members or n00bs. All of these men contribute their knowledge to HDC and they're very helpful to n00bs.

If those three don't take the position, I'd vote for fortunato and Moth Man.

Pink, you'd get my vote if any of the above don't want the position simply because you are compassionate and you're here regularly.

Hmmm... I like the idea of my girl in a position of power. :D

Imagine...bottomless PM box, the ability to actually access the reviews and articles. Pretty sweet.

I can access the articles if I use IE and I'm signed out of the forum.

How about chaibill he is pretty moderate and has a great high speed connection. Also he has a sense of humor so jokes about priests and kids will be made into a sticky. Furthermore he has a passion for equality and if he were to be elected would not accept money from lobbyists.
