MANIAC COP 1988

How did I miss this one? Will have to find the other 2(?).

A killer is loose and appears to be either a police officer or someone masquerading as one. The trail just gets stranger at every turn.

Bill Lustig directed? Amazingly, I've never seen it either. Did you love it?

On the short list of films that reaaaaally scared the stuffing out of me when i was a kid, The Shuttered Room ranks pretty high.

A lot of "same-old, same-old". Worked at a jobsite in Aberdeen, Maryland for about 8 months. Now back in the office bored out of my mind. Had to have one of my cats put to sleep the other day. She had lost a ton of weight very quickly, come to find out her stomach was filled with tumors. Couldn't imagine watching her suffer a horrible, painful death. That's about it. Going to see The Gallows tonight!

MANIAC COP 2 1990

At 1990 its just on the cusp for this thread but I just watched "Maniac Cop" and reported it here, so I'll continue with this one here. I know what you're saying..."Bloofer, who cares?"

I wasn't as taken with this one as the first but it was still alright. Saw there is a third installment and will at least check it out.

THE VIDEO DEAD 1987

A sister and brother set up their new house while awaiting their parents' imminent arrival from Saudi Arabia. What they don't know is that the previous owner of their house was murdered by zombies let loose from an old black and white television. And that said television is still in the house...

This is a low budget film, but all things considered it was pretty damn good. Loved the zombies.

I'm not big on zombie movies, but this sounds kind of hammy enough for even the likes of I to give it a shot. Was it a YouTube find?

It was on YouTube(pretty much where I watch all my movies). Oh its a real ham bone. The zombies are somewhat like the gremlins from Gremlins in their naughtiness. But, again, I really liked it.

I'll keep an eye out for it then. Thanks, Bloofer 8)

I used to watch him wrestling but a few years ago I saw him on an episode of "Celebrity Wife Swap". He came off as a real decent family man.

SUPERSTITION 1982

A lame story about a witch wreaking vengeance on the descendants of the priest who put her to death in the 1600's. I'd pass.

I'm with you on that one! Great effects, clever script, plenty of humor and an ALL TIME great soundtrack. If I was forced to pick my top 3 zombie flicks, Return would definitely be on that list.

'Frogs' (1972)
-Sam Elliot, Ray Milliand, Joan Van Ark

Plot: IMDB
Jason Crockett is an aging, grumpy, physically disabled millionaire who invites his family to his island estate for his birthday celebration. Pickett Smith is a free-lance photographer who is doing a pollution layout for an ecology magazine. Jason Crockett hates nature, poisoning anything that crawls on his property. On the night of his birthday the frogs and other members of nature begin to pay Crockett back.

Phantom's Review: One of many "Nature Strikes Back" films that came out in the '70's. The acting is quite good, considering what the plot is and what the actors had to work with. The film is wonderfully shot, but ultimately it's just a schlocky, low budget horror film that isn't the least bit scary. The film can be entertaining if your in the right frame of mind or just want to revisit the glory days of the '70's.

Yeah, nice choice and solid review, Phantom. I really get a kick out of this movie. Just cheesy enough to give you a giggle and still high quality enough to merit the audiences attention. I'm a fan of Frogs, and will be until I…croak!

Oh, who didn't see that coming??::shocked::

The only bad celebrity experience I had was Robert Englund. Not friendly at all. My favorite so far is Nicholas Brendon.

That's not fun to hear. I know everyone has bad days but when you're selling something to a person, signature or otherwise, and you're being handed money, it's nice if you can be polite about it.
My only unpleasant horror celeb experience was Danielle Harris. She was really rude to almost everyone in line ahead of us, so we split before we even got to her table. I can't stand that kind of stuff.

Yeah, it was a pretty big disappointment. I was kind of excited to meet her, but we walked away instead. I try to be fair, so I would bet for every negative experience one has with these folks, there's a positive encounter. People have shitty days.

It is indeed cheesy, but like The Phantom said, if you're in the right frame of mind, well worth checking out.
My wife really likes this movie...she's an ecologist at heart, but it might have something to do with the unfairly handsome buffed Sam Elliot who has his shirt off a few times here...of course, she swears that's not the case..right!::big grin::

Haha! Not a thing wrong with that. For the fellas, Joan Van Ark, Judy Pace and Lynn Borden are certainly easy on the eyes. They DO leave their shirts on, however. ::sad::
