Everybody HATED TCM The Beginning (that I knew) but it wasn't that bad. Sure the story sucked, but it's worth one watch if you're a gorehound I think.

it's pretty weak, but I'm sure a lot of you will like it. The gore is nice, the mood is creepy, just don't expect to feel invested in any of the characters or to walk away feeling that this film added to the mythos in any real way except

************************SPOILER******************* ************
Leatherface's birth on the floor of the slaughterhouse and subsequent abandonment in a dumpster was pretty tasty.
************************* END SPOILER**************************

I kind of liked this one better then the remake, but the whole idea of a prequel to a remake that strayed far away from the original characters really begs the question why was this film necessary?

Rod, your comments were very helpful. I plan to avoid this one. I'm not big on the all gore no story films.

I thought it was better than the remake by far. To me its not a movie to expect much from anyway as it is for gore and thrill, it made me jump a few times and that never happens. It is one I would just like to add to the collect w/the rest of my TCMs.

I thought this was the best TCM movie since pt 2, Lee Ermey was awsome. I ran two blocks in the rain in Sydney and just made it in time for the final screening before it left cinemas in December. It was worth it.

I'll agree it was better than TCM3 or the Jessica Beil jiggle-fest, but that isn't exactly high praise.

It's passable. The teen girls in the theater seemed to scream a lot. The wife and I enjoyed watching the little girls squirm much more than anything in the film.

Pretty keen on checking this one out. Be a few more months before it hits the shelves here, as long as its not like the Next Generation I'll dig it.
