The Great HDC Rendezvous...and disaster!!
 

As few of you might have noticed, I recently picked up The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. I have been reading it (quite sporadically, 2-3 pages at a time), and thats what made me think of this possible futuristic scenario.


Think of this as a game, if you will. Or a challenge/puzzle which will make you think/ponder over your BEST options, and choose the BEST of those, accordingly.


Let's imagine this - In about 5 years' time, say 2013, all of HDC agree together and meet during the summer vacations at a pre-decided place, say The Bahamas (lovely idea, isnt it?).

All of us arrive there in 1-2 days, and check in at a huge hotel, and are generally delighted to meet each other.

3 days pass just like that, sharing a lot of laughs, memories, fond moments of togetherness, play, joy, mirth, parties etc.

On the 4th morning, some of us hear on the TV that a huge ZOMBIE apocalypse has broken out throughout the mainland. No country is spared...(maybe it's a virus ala 28 Days/Weeks Later), and at once you are worried and concerned about the safety of your family/loved ones out there.

As the day progresses, all mobile and radio communications go out, one after the other, and TV stations start showing blank screens.

You get very worried, and decide to leave at once to check for family/survivors.

Here's where the exercise starts :-

1 - Let's say that all of you arrived there by your own personal boat, which is a 6-seater. So, alongwith yourself, you can make a team of 5 other people - HDC members in this case - who can accompany you in your perilious journey back into the mainland.

Which HDC members would you choose, and why? Think carefully and answer.


2 - Let's imagine, that by sheer chance/luck, some of you stumble across a weapons shed not too far from the hotel, which is PACKED to the brim with EVERY KNOWN hand-wielded weapon ever made, and plenty of ammo for each one of those.

Which ones would you pick for yourself, and suggest to your team members? Remember you will be going back on your boat which already has your team on it, so you wont have much space to stash as many weapons as you would like to take. Let's say, one weapon per member of your team. Thats a team-total of SIX weapons (and ammo).


3 - Once you arrive back on mainland (of your country), you go ahead to your hometown/city and check out on your family(ies).

If you find no/very few survivors, what would be your next plan of action? Remember you have 5 HDC members with you, and maybe some/very few of your own family members too. It could be a means for survival, contact, action...in short, your next STEP.


Let's think of this as an exercise in survival - surviving an apocalypse of very dangerous proportions. The question here is - will you be ready enough mentally/physically to handle such a possible disastrous situation?

If yes, let's hear it.

I would pick:monalisa,horrorobsessed,pinkfloyd,ferret and Posher.


Monalisa-She is a survior and could easily kill some zombies

horrorobsessed-I bet she has a dark side to her that could be helpful.She seems to have a strong mind.

pinkfloyd-Shes been through alot and has some built up anger inside of her,im sure.

ferret-Hes smart for his age and creative.Plus i bet he has an evil side to him.haha.

Posher-He could handle himself easily i think.He wouldnt even need a team.He would be great to have on my team.



I would grab a shotgun and lots of ammo and also a sword.They would probaly grab an AK47,magnum,desert eagle and 2 9mm.




I would find my brother.He has a very strong will and would survive.The others could have one survivor from their family.Then we would move out,and try and find other survivors.I would be listening to David Bowie and NIN to keep from going insane.Praying everyday that we all survive.I would also become detached.Beoming more deadly.

Would you move, from place to place? Or all of you would center yourself at some hidden place?

Remember, sooner or later, you are going to run out of ammo, food and fuel - 3 basic needs for survival.

How would you plan to meet these basic necessities? After all, its not only you, but your entire team too, who needs to survive.

Theres no reason other than the fact that i like these guys!! I hope they would help me cause i'd be screwed!!!!!:)

From place to place,im use to that anyway.Also because we wouldnt have our scent around in one place to long.Were all smart too.So we wouldnt make stupid mistakes like in most zombie films.I think we could eventually settle down in one place,after weve secured it,and start farming or breeding cows,or eating veggies.I would also use my sword when i have no more ammo.I would teach the others to use them too.We could also make a knife weapon.That shoots knives out,of it.I would make sure to take care of them.All though they can too.We would be tight,like a family after a while.I think we would be okay.We would begin eating plants if the food was scarse and like i said,us knives or other weapons like that.Or get a huge tank.Since most of the soldiers would be dead anyway.

Firstly, I would bring

- Disease and Ferox - They both live in great britain so it would be useful when we want to visit our homes. Also, they both seem like they could be good fighters.

- Murderdoll - If she got angry at one of the zombies, then well, they don't stand much of a chance.

- Maggie and Dante - I speak to them often so we'd already know each other a bit.



- I'd get a sword, reccomend other people did too, but also have at least two sniper rifles for safe measure. Swords because they don't run out.

- I'd keep at sea as much as possible. Try and find a boat capable of living on. That way we can travel around and feel safe a lot of the time.

I'd take a sword or something else big and sharp and sit on the roof. Anyone who wants to join me can. If worse comes to worse I'll put the sword through my head, or jump off the roof.

Or, jump off the roof belly-first and hold the sword out in front pointed toward me.

Yeah,i would bring FC too...even if he had to sit on my lap:)

If I had my honest choice and not to sound like and asshole but I'd go it alone.Not to offend anyone but I think I'd have a better chance of survival if I went at it with just myself.I'd grab plenty of shitgun and pistil ammo and a sword or two.then it would be off to check on my family.If they where alive I'd stay with them and if not I'd continue to go alone moving from place to place til I found the perfect safehouse.
