What instruments do you play

Ok figured since we have a music section I'd make a thread for any musician on the board. Whether you play in a band or just for fun, tell us, what do you play.

Myself.

Bass Guitar: BC Rich Warlock 4-string/ Ibanez Ergodyne 5-string

Vocals: Clean and Scream (Deathcore/Screamo)

Some Acoustic Guitar.

Any pics???

I play a little bit of bass mainly 90's metal, would love how to slap bass, claypool style.

I also write a fair bit of horrorcore/death rap.

Elvis_Christ 05-09-2010 07:29 PM

I play bass and a bit of guitar.

I play in a shitty HC band.

Hail satan.

fortunato 05-09-2010 07:33 PM

Guitar (and bass, I guess), some drums and some piano.

No singing.

I don't currently play in a band, but a friend of mine and I are trying to put together a loud, dirty rock 'n' roll band.

The_Return 05-09-2010 07:35 PM

To say that I "sing" is to do a disservice to all the actual singers out there...but I am the frontman of sorts for my buddy's band. Pretty bad, but all in good fun.

And I desperately wish that I had time to learn how to play guitar.

I learnt the piano for awhile when I was younger but never stuck with it. It sounds fucking cool tho and I always wished I'd stuck with it.

That guitar is awesome I'd rock that. Random pic I take it?

it's mine. ;)

buy a decent keyboard with weighted keys, it's not too late to get back into it.

cheebacheeba 05-10-2010 06:29 PM

I don't really anymore as I don't have one of my own...
I was the only one in my class that could make a non-squeeling noise from a clarinet so I learned how to play that...though I could not read sheet music.
I moved onto the sax from there, usually playing alto but gave baritone a shot too.
Can't play anything else for shit.

Dante'sInferno 05-10-2010 07:50 PM

Just a bass and a synthesizer right now. I will probably get a piano this year though. :)

Is that someone's signature on it, or something you wrote?

I play guitar in Devil's Food (Alice Cooper tribute). I get to wear pillowcases over my head and basically whatever I feel like which is cool because I'm kind of a sicko. Fun band, been with those guys for 5 years now - every night is Halloween at our shows.

Trumpet' french horn, euphonium. Blood parents made me learn bass and treble notation.

AMICUS HORROR 05-17-2010 10:36 AM

I play the Bagpipes, all the kids at my school have to learn the pipes and drums.

Angra 05-17-2010 10:48 AM

The big fat meat flute.

No, I DON'T wanna show any pics!

And this.

ChronoGrl 05-18-2010 05:57 AM

I played the saxophone in high school and college (yep - band geek all the way!)

Honestly wish I stuck with it. Would love to jam out with the tenor...

Elvis_Christ 05-18-2010 06:30 PM

X¤MurderDoll¤X 05-18-2010 06:50 PM

Give it to me. That will totally ruin it.

You could take it outside, plug it in to an amp, and crank it up. Then set the guitar on the ground and pour lighter fluid on it. Light a match and set the thing on fire.
I've always wondered what a burning guitar would sound like through an amp.

I mainly just want to ruin it's looks, but now I do wonder what it would sound like.

Hm, well I've been wanting to start the most intense metal band of all time. Probably our name would be Entrails Forever or Vomited Entrails or maybe Death by Entrails. Not sure yet; I'm kicking a few different ones around. Anyway, we'd burn at least one guitar every show, so if you want to join you're more than welcome.

This would also provide the perfect environment to ruin your guitar.

Practice is on Wednesdays at 6:30.

umm I'm pretty sure I should sing, I have this video I could send you where the guitarist in my last band and myself were making pure magic. it was like noise meets scream meets experimental awesome... it also sounded like a murder apparently because police were called.

Haha, too bad you're not around much anymore because I would love to see this.

Fearonsarms 12-19-2011 08:10 AM

Between 1997 and 2000 I used to play keyboard plus write and record music. It was atmospheric instrumental music (my lyrics at that stage and my voice were diabolically bad so that's why I went intrumental) we (a mate was my producer and guitarist) also used guitars, flute and violins. I wish I'd kept at it cos there's no way I'd be that creative now though I think my stuff would have been suitable for horror soundtracks. Sigh-huge regrets about this lately.

Elvis_Christ 12-19-2011 03:23 PM

Just slowly get back into it. You can download free recording programs like Audacity and mess round with stuff.

I'm working on some instrumental/noise stuff at the moment. Somewhat inspired by horror soundtracks but with the main intention of creating an ugly and disturbing atmosphere.

Good luck with the stuff you are doing-sounds great. When I started I wasn't really trying to create disturbing atmospheres-the music I made just turned out that way lol I guess even back then horror soundtracks must have been influencing me although nothing ever went beyond demo quality (I still have a demo cd and demo tape of the music. I will look into those programs but I am starting from scratch now as my keyboard is ancient and needs replacing plus my mate had the master tapes and I lost touch with him a while back when he moved to Leeds. But considering it is probably a lot easier these days to record your own music I may get there given a bit of time. Thanks for the encouragement :)
