Shadow over Innsmouth, At the mountains of madness, and on and on I like many of his short stories too, Cool air, The hound, The Lurking Fear, The Unnameable and on and on. I think I love to read horror even more than viewing it. Lately, everything I've read has been substandard and not particularly good. I like a book that I can think about and get goose bumps.

sorry dude:D

I would say that there are some big differences between the movie and the book mainly the death or rather lack of death of one of the characters and the ending is also different. What the books offers that the movie lacks is a view into the mind of Zipperface. and that is frightening and worth the read

barker
Which novel should I read first? Which of his anthologies should I begin with also

the life of death how spoilers bleed twilight at the towers the last illusion the book of blood (a postscript) on jerusalem street as for a conclusion to the story, i already said the cabal story was to be a trilogy but he never wrote the other two books. |
Volume 6!!! are you kidding me I thought there were only 3 books of blood? wow thanks for the info. As for the question I would read the books of blood. I loved The yattering an jack and the midnight meat train. Let me know what you think of them.

I picked up Clive Barker's special edition Books of Blood Vol1-3. A feat for me because I live a 100 miles away from a descent book store. I've started reading. He wrote an introduction to the book, he explained that he no longer thrives on horror and halloween. He says that it took his lover David's costume to peak his interest in his earlier works. He says that he's lost his thirst for blood and mayhem, in short it sounds like he's grown up, hope that never happens to me. I'm losing myself in his world, tell you how the trip was when I return. Thanks for turning me onto his works. So far I am estatic.

welcome and read the sig

Wow, I just finished the books of blood vol. 1. It was amazing! I particularly liked The Midnight Meat Train. I haven't read anything lately that had me completely absorbed. I lost track of time and read the whole thing! My eyes are burning! Can't wait to get to the next two. Thanks for turning me on
