Ok, I can see a real flamming about to happen for making this thread on a Horror board, but I just felt bored so I made this thread. The other day a semi-friend of mind asked what my concept of true love was. My first responses was 'who the fuck do I look like? Dr. Phil?" But I told him my concept on it, so I guess I'll tell ya'll too. Feel free to share yours. My concept is that for love to be truely real, 100% true love, there must be no lust involved. Lust is not love. You can't have 100% of one thing and just a pitch of something else. That wouldn't make the love 100%. True love needs no lust, just purely love. Phyical appearance should never be judged, because if it is then theres lust involved. When a man stays with one untill they're old and his forever beloved wife laying there sick in the bed and still cares dearly and loves her, THATS love. When you truely love someone you marry them, and when you're married then you are family. If she was to be so unfortunate as to suffer a car crash, causing her face to be slightly deformed and never to be completely back to normal and yet he remains by her side for the rest of their days, THATS love.

lets see whats mine, has to be that immediate physicla atraction. doesnt need to be 100% but hey, were still animals. pretty much have the same view on things so u can relate. can work together, compromise. someone who will look at you the same way you look at them. someone you cuold just sit and smile at, dont even really need to say anything, or do anything and u still enjoy each others company. someone u could hold forever. someone who no matter what will always be sexy in ur eyes

Unfortunately, it seems that everyone I have met has a
different view of 'love' than I do...I feel that love is a grand,
magnificent thing...It's a solid, stone castle, like the ones in
Romania...An enormous, strong fortress...A solid edifice that
doesn't deteriorate with the passing of time...Standing beautiful,
and even intimidating for all eternity...With deep, dark catacombs...Lit only by candles...Furnished with only the things that are really necessary and important....To everyone that I have known so far, love seems to be more like a sandcastle...

What's on the surface (appearance) doesn't really matter...I prefer a ripple on the surface caused by something deep, intense and furious...rather than a quick splash, that while grand, sudden, and exciting, dissipates almost immediately...

It doesn't exist for me, so I wouldn't know. :confused:

I think Love is a cutey little munchkin, oosey-goosey snuggle bunny. Sometimes.

i like to believe it exsists...but in reality...i don't think it does...not that love between a man and a woman. for your kids, family, friends, and pets, it's a different story

I've been with my girl for 5 years, and apart from that BIG part of love that is undefineable/undescribable (anyone IN love knows just what I mean) overall "feeling", there are some little things that seem a sure sign of it, or at least, the things that make it work for me:

Toleration of the shit we do that simply PISSES eachother off, again...and again. Acceptance of the person they are with the bad and good included, and NOT wanting them to ever change.

Similar Interests, and the willingness to experience the things the other enjoys...they don't always have to match, but if the effort's there, it's always cool.

You make a lot of decisions with them in mind, and they do the same for you.
If you can talk about ANYTHING, any old thing at all as you feel more comfortable around them than you do anyone else.

And you think about them, you think about them a lot...well, it could be just me, but my girl's on my mind almost all the time...not in any particular sense...but she's always there...
I mean, not 24/7 of course, but a lot.

There's other stuff, but that's all I could come up with on the spot.

Hrmmm love. I believe that for me true love is being with the person you love while they sleep. or just watching them for hours on end not wanting to disturb what they are doing. Just watching them and being completely and utterly happy with that. The way they look, The way they smile, The way their mouth moves when they talk.. I believe that being truly in love is being truly content. Not looking for anything else but only looking for what you have.

I love...love That made no scence, but most of the time....neither does love.

True love can be, like Bloodrayne said, a castle fortress built strong that will stand the test of time, no matter the weather or the seige. It is also a fragile house of cards with the slightest of breezes it could all fall apart.

It is something we all want and dont, we all need and dont, it can cause the utmost in pleasure and the deepest darkest pain that one can feel. It is taken for granted and not taken at all. It is so many things positive and so may things negative. It is like the smallest of atoms, negative balanced with positive with neutral thrown in there for good measure.

Sometimes I feel like I could do without it and would be better off, and then I feel had I not had the exprience I would not be the person who I am today.

I dont think anyone will ever know what true love is until we long pass from this plain of existance into the next. It is too much for the human mind to comprehend or understand.

i dont wanna get married.........not anytime soon......but we have had alot of good talks and come to the realization that we both have feelings for each other.....then she says that she also has feelings for this other guy whom she has dated for a while.......that combined with other experiences from the past(much more heart wrenching than this) has just turned me off of the whole finding love thing........i am don fuk it im out!!!
