You have been watching...
You have been watching the colorized version of NOTLD. Color has been added to the black and white film using computers.
It was done in the early 1990's I think by Turner Entertainment. Back when colorized films were being made, the job of colorizing paid (supposedly) $10.00 an hour; companies would hire a bunch of computer geeks and pay them 10 bucks an hour to sit at workstations adding color augmentation to the video. Personally, I enjoy some colorized movies, and I liked this one. I also like the colorized KING KONG. The green skin of the ghouls in the colorized NOTLD is very convincing and creepy, I think...and some of the gory violence features nice dark red blood. |
thanks filmmaker2, u r the first user, who explained me about that without any screaming... thanks 4 you.

Sure, no problem.
No problem at all.
By the way, I did some checking, and there are actually TWO colorized versions of this film, one from Turner and one (recent) from Offcolor Films. I have not seen the Offcolor Films version, but I'd like to. |
its the original and im guessing its the recent colorized release which is blasphemy
|
The only thing Id like to see in colour is the head on the stairs. It should be B&W though.

HAHA
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i/banghead.gif i agree!!! :D i know they colorized the original, but tom savini made a version in the 80's (86?) that is a really good remake (he was romero's maakeup/special effects guy i think). and oh yeah... b&w is better, filmaker2 was right about all that colorizing and code geeks getting paid all that to bang out some color.
if you like zombie movies... might i recomend you spend a day off and a paycheck and buy all the fulci flicks and watch them all. or if you're not ready for that, blockbuster usually carries zombi5 on dvd and that is a good movie. i like zombie movies (duh). i like all sorts of movies. also a good movie to get your hands on (not so zombie) is "bad taste" peter jackson did that before anyone ever thought of considering him for lord of the rings. |
I did get the ShriekShow "Zombi 2" DVD the other week, and was very pleased. It was everything everyone said it was. Special features galore! The documentary covers everything you wanted to know about, and even stuff on things you never bothered to think about.
"It's almost too much. It's so comprehensive, it borders on madness," one Fulci fan said, and I heartily agree. |
