I've had a red caggabe sauerkraut before, at a german club/restaurant, and it was fucking excellent, as was the rest of the food there. Those people know how to eat hearty.

That sandwhich looks good, but I have to give this one to the BLT, out of versatility. Personally, I've had slight variations of the BLT for breakfast, lunch and dinner before. - The mixture of bacon and fresh, cool vegetables really works for it. I live in a pretty damn hot country, so yeah, I'd more often than not go with the BLT.
Although Vod, the other one looks great, I might make one.
It's got me thinking I'm gonna go "learn some German" now;)
I'll keep you informed.

lol I lost all my pics, when my Hard Drive went tits up a few weeks ago, didnt have em all backed up on CD.

anyway.... I vote for that Reuben thing, sounds tasty and I think BLTs are a bit bland.

urgeok 01-13-2005 10:59 AM

i rarely eat sandwiches anymore ..
I like flatbread wraps .. with corned beef and havardi cheese ..thinly sliced.

and kosher dills !!

OI !

ShankS 01-13-2005 11:11 AM

I'm into piled high fillings in sandwiches, with plenty of healthy ingredients.

furballothrills 01-13-2005 11:56 AM

they'll make them at the 'english pubs' here - usually run by ex-pats ..

i couldnt believe my eyes when i saw it for the 1st time.

curry fries i can understand..
guiness i can understand

but frenchfries and gravy sandwiched between thick heavily buttered bread slices ...

HOLY SHIT !

ShankS 01-13-2005 12:05 PM

chip butties are more of a Northen England thing.

zwoti probably has them everyday for breakfast.

Vodstok 01-13-2005 12:16 PM

There's a NORTH England? Why wasnt i told about this?!?!

Just because the Uk is the same size of one of your McDonalds Reasturant Service Counters, doesn't mean our land lacks all four main points on a compass... :D

urgeok 01-13-2005 12:37 PM

north england = Scotland
West England = wales
West West England = Ireland
South England = France

there's yer 4 compas points :)

ShankS 01-13-2005 12:42 PM

Fucking France as southern England.....pfftff what books you been reading.

Fucking Garlic suckers can go stick the Arc de Triomphe up their asses, before us Brits ever let them take over the South.

Gren the cake 01-13-2005 01:52 PM

i havent had meat in 3 1/2 years but judging from what i remember

BLT!! :D reuben seems a bit too heavy!

ChEEbA 01-13-2005 01:54 PM

I agree, the Reubens DOES look heavy, but it would probably make for a good breakast - is it a breakfast thing?
What's the score so far?
Vod, if it doesn't work mebbe u should make it first to 3 or 4..?

Gren the cake 01-13-2005 02:06 PM

HELPS!

now i suond like kitty! but im trying to think of what to make for dinner tomorrow and im out of ideas. for me and my buddy

already had mexican, italian and japanese

so what else? im thinking of making some cheese fries cuz i have lots of potatoes but what else shuold i make with it?????

ChEEbA 01-13-2005 02:16 PM

Paprika, basil, diced onion, cajun spice, granulated garlic, crushed pepper, chilli flakes, guacemole, Try crushed corriander seeds if you can get some - awesome lemon-y flavour, ground rosemary, chives, olives....that's all that comes immediately to mind, but cheese fries would be versatile - try pretty much anything you have lying around.
I'd suggest you steer clear of cleaning products, poisons and corrosives.;)

- B.

Gren the cake 01-13-2005 02:24 PM

sounds sexy like!! im def putting chives, think ill try some of the paprika i just bought some! but what else can i eat with it. im thinking of just breading up and frying some shrimps?? this is DIFFICULT!

cuz were making pizza on saturday, so i dont want to do anything italian or tomatoey before ya know..? mexican is out of the question and we've had sushi twice already.

that and sushi wouldnt go well with cheese fries... :)

ChEEbA 01-13-2005 02:30 PM

You never know...I've tried some pretty weird combinations...never say never 'til you've tried it...of course, if it totally sucks, don't blame me...

Bbq'd garlic prawns (yknow...big shrimp?) would probably be awesome, but the crumbed fried ones'd probably be just as good...if you're down with calamari, mussels and octopus too, you could work it that way all together with some garlic (and chive) sour cream, the top, squeeze of lemon/lime juice?
carrot sticks might go well with it, and yknow, other crunchy fresh vegetables that can be served raw or lightly steamed?
You could even really quickly stir-fry the veggies and seafood together and put the sauce over both?
Oh yeah, and cherry tomatos or grape tomatos, sliced in half and added at the end would be nice...
All that beside or on top of cheese fries would probably work?

You could always make your more wedge like, and out of sweet potato or pumpkin as well as potato? Just for a difference...

Just try some crazy shit...use your result as a learning experience one way or another I guess?

Gren the cake 01-13-2005 02:40 PM

:) im basically going off of what i have in the house right now LOL. which isnt much.

shrimp, probably just fried then again i do have that new george foreman grill.. HMM. might be agood idea, i slit down the peel and get the vein out, it tastes a LOT better with the peel on (that is, u dont eat it,, but u know what i mean!) maybe ill just do that

potatoes would be the starch, the shrimp the 'meat' and well, would be nice to have some actual vegetable and we've got a grip of broccoli in the other fridge. dunno what to do with it though? want to do more than steam, maybe lightly steam but then what to put on it? i usually either a) steam, then cheese it b) steam it, then put just some olive oil and lemon. cheese is out of the question and olive oil and lemon seems a bit too plain? then again may work!

as for the cheese fries, i tend to make them thicker neway, i guess they would be considered steak fries :).

hmmm.. sounds like a decent meal?

ChEEbA 01-13-2005 02:45 PM

That's it...work with what you got, and go with what works...

The_Return 01-13-2005 03:54 PM

Ive honestly never tried either....bit that Rueban looks damn tasty right now....

Im voting for it, cause now Im hungry
