Any James Bond fans here?

along with being a fan of horror, I've also been a fan of action/adventure movies and the "James Bond 007" films have been particular favorites. I own all the films as well as a ton of memoroblia and I just wanted to know if there were any other fans here. if there are ,who's your favorite Bond? Bond Film? Girl? Here's my list , looking forward to seeing yours.
Favorite Bond:
1. Connery-still the best after all these years

2. Brosnan-this one was a tough call. I liked Dalton but his run was so short-only two movies- so I go with Brosnan as #2
3. Dalton
4. Moore
5. Lazenby

Bond Movie:

1 From Russia With Love
2. Goldfinger
3. You Only Live twice
4. Goldeneye
5 Licence To Kill

Bond Girl:

1 Ursula Andress (Dr. No)
2 Daniela Biachi (From Russia With Love)

3. Barbara Bach(The Spy Who Loved Me)

4. Halle Berry (Die Another Day)

5.Kim Basinger (Never Say Never Again)

Well, thats all I can think of for now.If there is any other Bond stuff to talk about, leave a post.

IDrinkYourBlood 01-19-2005 07:24 PM

my favorite movies in the whole wide world are bond films.(if youv read the last seen movies thread you would know this by now:D )
I own them all too. Anyways my favorite Bond has to be Roger Moore. Favorite Bond movie has to be Man with the Golden Gun. And everything else is equel. As for favorite Bond game I would say Everything or Nothing.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 04:05 AM

I love Bond. The first movie i ever saw was For Your Eyes Only.

My favorites list? This may take me a minute:

Bond:
Connery
Brosnan
Moore
Dalton
Lazenby

Movies:
Live and Let Die
The Man with the Golden Gun
Diamonds Are Forever
You Only Live Twice
For your Eyes only

Bond Girls:
Daniela Biachi (Mucho agree on her. she is tasty)
Rosamund Pike (Die another Day)
Jane Seymour(Live and Let Die)
Carole Bouquet (For Your Eyes Only)
Sophie Marceau (The World is Not enough)

Bond Themes:
Live and Let Die
A View to a Kill
For Your Eyes Only
GoldFinger (I hate Shirley Bassey, but GF is the quintessential bond song)
You Only Live Twice (AKA, Millenium by Robbie Roberts(I think that was his name....))

i might be one og the biggest fans on this forum .. I've been collecting the books, movies, soundtracks ever since i was a kid .. when i saw The MAn With The Golden Gun by accident.

A friend and I were supposed to be seeing a completely different movie and ended up at this one by accident ... i was completely hooked.

My favorite Bond ... man its hard to say .. I was always fond of On HEr MAjesties Secret Service because it was so historically significant ... (bond gets married)

I love You Only Live Twice for the magnificent Barry score

I love Diamonds are Forever for the great vegas car chase and bambi and thumper ..

I love The man with the golden gun because it was my first - and Christpher Lee was cool

I love view to a kill because walken was the most evil villian at all (laughing while he killed his own men ...)

The only one i didnt like was Moonraker .. when some asshole decided to make the movie a comedy.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 05:02 AM

I still enjoy even moonraker.... bad, but good bad.

A view to a kill is considered the qworst, and there IS a lot that is bad about it... But walken is just great. He even laughes while HE is about to die. That old fart is yelling "Max! Max!" and he looks over, about to fall off the top of the golden gate bridge, and laughs..... Fucking nut...:D

yeah he has this holy fuck - hahaha ! look

there was a lot to dislike about that movie (tanya roberts as you alredy mentioned)

the part that drove me insane was the pure granite courthouse
on fire.

rocks on fire .. jesus christ.

but walken went a long way to redeem that film and I was always a big fan of Grace Jones

Vodstok 01-20-2005 05:18 AM

Keep your eyes peeled the next time you watch it. Dolph Lundgren has a 2 second cameo, if you blink, you will miss it.

The funny thing is, i saw this movie WAY before i ever saw spinal tap, so sir Thomas Eden-Hog will always be Sir Godfrey Tibbets to me.

Also, ever notice that "Jenny Fleck" was the same chick who played Elsa Schnieder in Indiana Jones and the last Crusade?

YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK!

How can you discuss James Bond without a mere mention of the best Bond there ever was in the best 007 movie?

Thats right....I'm talking "Casino Royale", with the great David Niven.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 05:41 AM

Holy shit that movie was bad.....

60s ensemble movies are just.... jesus man.....

And i cant stand woody allen....

Oh, and Never Say Never again isnt a true James Bond movie, it was a Warner Brothers "Adaption" of Thunderball. With BErnie Casey as Felix? Somebody had a good laugh over that one.

They are a bit cheesy..but how about the "In Like Flint" movies? These were great.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 06:01 AM

Felix Unger? I dont recall Jack Lemon or Walter Matthau in any bond flicks... maybe ol walt played Sherrif JW Pepper?

Just picking, it was Felix Lighter. And i knwo what you are saying, but a black guy? cmon.... that's like haveing Jackie Chan play the next bond... it just doesnt quite fit.

someone was lobbying to be the next bond and he is a black guy .. i cant remember who ..

it doesnt make sense ... if you're going to switch race/gender on an established character .. just do the same thing with a different character.

It would be like having a white Blade or Spawn... doesnt make sense.

Thats how I felt when Will Smith did "Wild Wild West". That was one of my favorite shows growing up. Nothing against Will Smith but c'mon.....he plays pretty much the same character in all of his movies. And this has nothing to do with race. I love all people.

I can't say I'm too keen on seeing Steve Martin do the Pink Panther either.

I think Hugh Jackman would make a good James Bond. What do you think?

i'd rather see an unknown 30 something Brit in the roll ...who can act.

I need a Bond I'm not going to associate with any other rolls.

Thats why Roger Moore was so unliked by older Bond fans .. they still saw him as The Saint.

Hugh JAckman as wolverine will always be in my head.

(the downside to a strong character roll)

Bond is mid to late 30's (i think) about 6'1" and not pretty .. he should look tough .. (that part was Jackman)

He is a cruel man. I'd like to see the Bonds get back to the basics ... a couple of believable gimmicks, a cool car, a funky villan ... and hard core action.

A couple of the recent bonds made an attempt to go in that direction - actually the Dalton bonds made an attempt to get grittier at one point.

But .. its hard to go back...

He could pull it off, but my vote goes for Jason Statham.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 07:32 AM

Oh, i love him. He would definatly be a HUGE change from Brosnan (who i like. he is a new-age connery)

I would get a kick out of Turkish being bond:
Who stole the Jam from your donut, bond?
You did Blofeld... You stole the jam from my fucking donut...

IDrinkYourBlood 01-20-2005 08:10 AM

hahaha. I like all bond movie no matter what the cost. Except for never say never again( that was trash, and not considered a bond film) But i would like to see Jackman play bond and not that collin guy for sure. And also they should bring back specter and maybe blofelt.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 08:14 AM

Blofeld is dead, he was dropped into a very large smokestack at the beginning of for your eyes only.

Jackman would be better than farrel, but i would still prefer someone else.

blofeld died in every bond movie :)

he always comes back ... it was always a double ..etc ..
or he just comes back with fresh scars.

the return of Blofeld would be a great way to turn back the series - old school ... but people now want bond to be more topical ... something they can relate to what they read in the papers.

Vodstok 01-20-2005 08:38 AM

Here's topical:
Bond calls the President a retard, avoids a natural disaster that kills thousands in the indian ocean, then gets filmed boning paris hilton, shortly thereafter he gets his own reality show.

And eventually ends up on "The Surreal Life", making out in a hot tub with Peter North and Chyna.(She comes back for another season. in the movie anyway)

i like the part with Paris Hilton ...
kind of gives it that international feel you get in the Bond movies

Vodstok 01-20-2005 08:52 AM

M: Bond Where are you?
Bond: Deep inside Paris Hilton.
M: Well, Pull Out bond!

hearkens back to the days of "The Spy WHo Loved me" :D

urgeok 01-20-2005 08:56 AM

cheezy double-entendre ...

the bond film trademark.

One of the many reasons why guys love it, and girls think it's stupid :)

ShankS 01-20-2005 09:51 AM

I've got all bar the last two on vhs tape, the films seam to have lost their edge now, thats why I've not bothered getting the last couple on dvd. I may replace the vhs copies of the other ones with dvds, if I ever get round to it.

newb 01-20-2005 10:15 AM

But of course....The new James Bond has been under our noses the whole time.

the only thing that could make that pic better would be to have him pissing himself :D

Only one actor played Felix Leiter twice it was David Hedison (The Fly,Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea) he played Felix in "Live And Let Die"(Roger Moores first Bond) and "License To Kill" with Timothy Dalton

urgeok 01-20-2005 12:09 PM

ahh !
nice work !

Amalthea 01-20-2005 01:08 PM

I love James Bond too, but I canīt stand Casino Royal either!
Was On Her Majestys Secret Service the most underrated Bond movie or what?

"The Man With The Golden Gun" has probably the funniest lines in a Bond movie.
The scene has Bond(Roger Moore) talking to an arms dealer trying to get information on the villian "Scaramanga"(Christopher Lee). The man won't talk so Bond points a rifle at the mans crotch and say's "Speak now or forever hold your piece". The first time I heard that line, I think I laughed for 5 minutes. Roger Moore was not my favorite Bond, but I will say he knew how to deliver a funny line.

he always had that twinkle in his eye :)

he wasnt the real problem with the films he was in ... the series just got a little sloppy under him

IDrinkYourBlood 01-21-2005 12:38 PM

how did things get sloppy?

urgeok 01-21-2005 12:45 PM

moonraker is the biggest example ...and the spy who loved me ..
(although i do like the spy who loved me) they started to become more like comedies .. and all of the action was gadget oriented.

Moore was a bit too long in the tooth eventually and fight scenes had to be carefully edited.

A little comedy has its place ... but it completely ruined Moonraker ...

(jaws has a little blond girlfriend ... and that terrible fight in space ?)

IDrinkYourBlood 01-21-2005 12:47 PM

I find nothing wrong with those, but ill watch them again.
