Voice Lessons?
Shinobi wants to know how a person would go about obtaining voice lessons...Apparently the Yellow Pages (my suggestion) is not a viable option...
|
I learned how to sing by screaming. I know that doesn't help you. But it helped me :p
|
i have no idea how to get them in the phone book
but my youth mistress is helping me |
Nothing can train your voice more than going on a long road trip armed with your fav CD and a pack of cigs, and just belting out!
My rule of thumb is to NOT stop driving/singing until my vocal chords are stripped raw and I popped a few veins in my forehead. |

When your vocal chords are hurting that is good because that means that your streching them. The more higher notes you try to sing the more your vocal chords will strech. |

Lol, If he lived where I am I could give him 3 different people right off the top of my head, lol

Practice, practice, practice and more practice. That's how I got my wonderful voice. Try not to imitate or mimic another singer, go with your own voice.

Dude probably thinks he has a big CACK too. |
I know voice lessons are good for your vocal range and control, but I still think you can either sing or you can't. I have sang since I can remember. Just came naturally to me and my brother.
I have heard you though BR and you have a nice voice....but if you want to go for it! |

Did you get any lessons? |
Quote:
Did I even take lessons.... no. I would take lessons, they'll only make you better. Unlike what 'Crape' says.... I did mimic other singers growing up and thats the best way to understand your range. I have MP3's of my band, if you want to hear. To prove I'm not lying |

If you don't wanna tell me you're email, you can tell me through mine. [email protected] I really don't care if anyone spams me, I get enough of it |
I listened to the mp3 you sent, and I'm not an expert or anything...but that was very good shit!
You have a good voice, man. Very versatile. I wish you and your band good luck with getting signed, etc. |

If you want anymore songs, I'll send more |

Anyway, you can feel free to send me any songs you like...whenever you get a chance. I would be glad to give some of your other stuff a listen. |
I don't know about Kentucky, but here in austin there are many music schools that teach voice, piano, guitar, pretty much everything.
My new keyboardist is a teacher at one of these said schools, he teaches voice and piano, so i get free voice lessons from him...which is a plus. |

@Haphazard, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at by thinking that I would believe I would have a big "cack", seeing as the word "cack" means shit, or to take a shit, then well yes, I have taken a few of those in my 18 years of being alive. But if it's some immature, adolescent, naive way to say something else, well then I will just laugh in your general direction for being so retarded. Why are people so fucking stupid when it's not needed? |
Quote:
You just seem alittle 'cocky' (no pun). I'm a singer and I don't act like my voice is Wonderful. but we'll see |

I could take a dump on your pointless ego. Send me some songs, If you're so fucking sure of yourself.
If you're good, I'd be honest and tell you |

Anyway, it's called a sense of humor...you should give it a try. Damn! |

Well, he IS all of 18 yrs old. We all had egos for no apparent reason back then. |

Oh for the love of god. You can drop the "I'm so dark and humorless that it hurts to smile" bullshit act.
I was just ribbing you, man. I wasn't fucking attacking you! It could've been anyone that I was replying too. My god...I was being whimsical and fancyfree...LOL! |

what were you thinking !!??? silly rabbit, trix are for kids ! |
I sang for a band back in high school and I sounded terrible, didn't know what I was doing. I remember I'd sing in a really low octave to sound cool and I could barely hear myself over the monitor. Once I hit college I just played guitar and stopped singing. Dunno why I told that story, but that's my story of me being a sucky singer.
Someone just used the phrase "whimsical and fancy-free". |
