Boogey Man was pretty damn good!
 

I saw it today, and it was kinda freaky. full of shit that pops out at you. startling everyonce and a while. Some of it was hard to understand, and some of it was stupid, but for the most part, it was a alright movie.


go out and see it, unless you have high standards.

i spent 6 dollars on a bootleg copy of boogyman today off a korean in a bubblejacket.....it turns out i should've bought fat albert.....where do i begin?

this movie tries real hard not to be goofy, and in a minimalist sorta way it's real flat....it felt like i was watching a WB program..

the lead guy is real rugged and handsome, stoic and misunderstood...like all the pussys in these movies, and like all the other pussys he's 2 dimensional as all hell

they try to scare us with these quick little distorted flashbacks...doesn't work, oh yeah theres kids in it...with bad teeth and smudges on their faces....

there are some nice shots...and they dont show you any monsters....which is cool....but they fuck that up in the last 5 minutes....

on a final note, the dude above me who dug it, also thought mothman prophecies was the scariest movie he ever saw...thats what we're dealin' with here folks..

I intend to see this movie, and for the record - although mothman prophecies wasn't outrightly that scary, I thought it was quite decent.

Everyones scared of diffrent things. Me, I have neggrophobia. And Halloween scared the shit out of me.

I dont have high stardands of horroer movies like most of you guys do. that's why I love horror movies as much as I do, because there's not that many that I don't like. I like movies that you guys may hate.

I loved this movie....but not for the reason it wanted me to:)

Freaking hilarious, IMO. Lol, me and my friend were the only ones in the threatre that noticed him molesting the knob thing at the end of the bannister, come on, it was obvious! Nobody can say that wasnt meant for a laugh. And when his dad got "taken" right at the 1st...Lmao! We were the only ones laughing [This is true with most of the movie], but my god, that was hilarios! He was like some kind of ragdoll, and the boogyman was teasing the kid soo bad, it was amazingly funny. And the crow! Oh god, the crow....that was undenyably for laughs, when he turned on the wipers, we were damn near rolling in the aisles...Great fun this movie is!

On a more serious note, it rips off quite a few movies. Now before I get into what exactly, I can undersatnd copying a movie that did well, that is well liked. But ripping off movies that flopped and were almost exclusivly hated? What the fuck? If you've seen Darkness Falls or They, thats all you'll see in this movie, almog with a damn-near carbon copy of the bathtub scene from the 1st NOES.

No, it is Bogeyman. Wasn't the old legend that they were called Dust Bogies? And if you looked through the keyhole in a door they'd pull you through to the "other side"?

Some things they did were really cool, some things got lame fast. I jumped atleast 6 times during the movie but there were only two really scary parts, stingers (finally found out what they were called...) were very overused.

The story was actually pretty cool, it just needed some much needed horror. I really liked the main character, I hope I see him in more movies.

I'd say it is about average new horror movie. I think it could have been a lot better.

I know the name of the movie, I saw it. And I've seen the posters and commercials and all that, I know what the movie's called. I'm talking about the actual story of the "BoOgeyman", not the movie's plot or anything.

Just saw this tonight. I thought it was okay, nothing special. Only one shot of the boogyman actually freaked me out...when he was on the stairs and looks up......*shivers*.

Great..I was expecting more out of this film, because I heard it was by the same people who made 'The Grudge' & The Ring.
Guess every person has their good and bad movies? O.o

i still have no idea whether to spend hard earned money on it. the fact is, some movies are just good in spite of the fact that they don't scare you. if i waited for a movie that actually scared me, i'd die unsatisfied.

This movie was bad, real bad. Barry Watson gives a good performance, but nothing interesting happens and 95% of it is one big bore. It's just noises, sound effects, and atmosphere until around the final act.

I'll blow the ending, this is the "Boogie Man". Scary, eh?

Yeah dude, the lighting alone is creepy.

If you look closely, that's Barry Watson workin' the drums to scare the Boogeyman away.

I thought the first half was really good, but after the talk with the little girl by the swings the movie died VERY hard and fast. It was like the writer only had written to that part and then the rest of the story was made up by the way. Poor shame...

But what i liked about Boogeyman was especially Barry Watson who i thought was very well casted for this role.
Another thing that worked out well was the sound effects that where used effectively and often.


But after i´ve seen it this one time, i wouldn´t go out and buy it...... Ever!!
