In The Mouth of Madness
I never really hear anyone talking about In The Mouth of Madness. Why is that? That movie was phuckin awsome, and it deserves alot of credit. Anyways, how many of you have seen it, and what did u think? Am I the only one who thinks that its one of, if not the best to come from Carpenter (I know theres alot of u out there who will say The Thing is the best from Carpenter, and dont get me wrong, it is GREAT, I just like In the mouth of madness better)

I once saw it and I rememebr liking it, but I don't rememeber anything from it

|
Ya it is a very underrated movie. The part that one me over was when those cops are beat up that guy and one of the cops looks up and hes like a crazy pig monster. That was fucking cool. Cops suck....lol
|

|
That movie really creeped me out. I love it! It's one of my favourite movies around.

This is one of my favorite horror films of all time. And the "old lady" on the bike as you all are fond of calling him was actually the dude that played Anakin in the last Star Wars film. How funny is that?
|
thats hayden christiansen (thats his name right?)?
i didnt know that....... cool factoid yo |

I still have a lingering interest in Mouth of Madness, but I just remember not understanding the whole thing after watching it.
|
what didnt u / dont u understand? i can break it down for u, ive seen it tonz of times......
|
Very cool movie.
Recently watched it for the second time, makes the ending much clearer. The Lovecraftian themes were a nice touch, Sam Neill and Jurgen Prochnow were great, and John Carpenter added his usual flair for effects. Creepy, all-around awesome movie. |
Sam Neill gives another great performance in this one (thinking of Event Horizon), love the end scene where he is in the cinema laughing (trying not to give anything away).
Definately a film to see if you haven't caught it already. |
Mouth
One thing that drew me to the Movie was how Lovecraftian it was. Also a Carpenter film, whats not to love? "Sorry about the balls!" "Just a lucky shot!" Ha! It was grate.

i'm really not a fan of this film ...
i keep promising to take pictures of the locations in the film (they are all around the area where i live) i went right past the 'asylum' a couple of days ago but i didnt have my camera (its the old waterworks building) |

it just didnt gel for me ..
didnt find the story interesting or anything particularily well done despite some good actors. (despite 3 of my favorite actors !) i thought it was a weak effort. and not being a fan of stephen king - i'm not going to enjoy a film that glorifies him. i did enjoy the commentary though. anyone recognize Hayden Christensen in it ? |
Well, it had Lovecraftian themes because Lovecraft wrote it...
and I have yet to see it, now maybe i will. |
...
One of my favorites.

Mouth of maddness
I am a big Lovecraft fan which is why it is so dissapointing when you get some of the crap for movies inspired by his work. Only with in the last ten years or so, have they started to get better. Dagon, and of course, the Stuart Gordon films, but, still...

i'm one of the other rare people who liked Dagon.
picked up an extremely cheap copy and was pleasantly suprised. oftimes in horror a cast of unknows spells doom for the picture but it helped this film... it was in a foreign setting - everything was unknown ... and unpredictable. i love movies with the 'there is no escape despite all your efforts' feel to them .. takes me back to the satanical conspiracy films from the 70's. total and utter helplessness..... i thought it was well excecuted. i havent read the lovecraft book it references. |
