The Uninvited

Havenīt seen this movie, so i was interested to hear your thoughts about it:

1. Is it scary?

2. Is it good?

wufong 04-25-2005 12:08 AM

I know exactly what you mean. Iīve learned to sit patiently and wait until the last half minute, and THEN i bet like a lunatic. Itīs still the cheapest way to do it, i think. And this way itīs not you but the other Ebayers whoīs getting screwed.;) :D

urgeok 04-25-2005 08:50 AM

i'll snipe if its something i absolutely have to have ...
but thats not been the case in a long time ..

if i'm just interested if the price is right i'll set my limit and if its mine, great ..if not .. oh well.

a bidding war - every buyers nightmare, every sellers dream :)
I've been on both sides of the equation.

No, no, no.. The art is to wait untill the last moment and THEN set your max bid.;)

urgeok 04-25-2005 12:40 PM

doesnt always help .. serious bidders (other dealers) use e-snipe and other softwares that will auto bid for them...

Bidding wars can get quite annoying..... I've missed out a lot of great stuff by being outbid.

urgeok 04-27-2005 01:48 AM

so have i, but i've made a lot of $$$ because of it
I sell books on ebay - or i did until about a year ago - dont have the time these days.

I once had a used set of The Narnia Series up and two people got into it pushing the price up close to $30.

at the very same time there was a 'buy it now' for a new set - the same as mine - for $17.

The winner told me that she was sick of losing and wanted to win no matter what !

Elvis_Christ 04-27-2005 02:33 AM

Hahaha!

Yeh I've made a bunch of money on records thru people having a bidding war (a good $40 to $60 a piece). People just seem to go crazy if its something they really want.

i did the same thing once ... with a laserdisc of The Fog
- i paid 80$ US for that bastard and it came out on DVD a year later.

i've since seen it in my local used DVD store for 8$ canadian.

i do my homework now..

A forgotten gem, one of my favorite supernatural films.

The_Return 05-23-2005 08:33 AM

On topic: Havnt seen it, sounds great

Off topic: I usually only use eBay to get cheap stuff. I dont look for hard to find stuff, only bid at all if it's cheaper than buying in stores. Got Ed Wood for like $10 CDN:D

I saw this just a couple of months ago. It isn't one of my favorites, but I did like it quite a bit. This was another that was recommended to me that I knew almost nothing about.
