Your proud chunk of theatre history:

Alright, so here's a new thread...I think...

I (along with a few others: The Return, RavageRitual, etc.) am only 16- very young- so I haven't been around long enough to really get much experience, but here's the question:

What is your proudest memory of a film seen in theaters? Or, anotherwords, what movie is considered a classic, or your favorite movie of all time, that you saw in theaters?

I'd say it was cool seeing the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy in theaters, or at least it will be in a decade or so.

What's yours?

I would have to say the most memorable was the original "Star Wars" in 1977. Absolutely electrifying, a total shock of wonder and surprise and exhilaration!

It has to be Alien. I was so blown away. Also, being a big fan of HR.Gieger,(have a lot of his artwork) it was a big thing for me.

For me SEEING a movie, Jurassic Park. I got me into readingf AND movies in a single blow... But the most powerfull moment Ive ever had in a theater was...

I went to the Cinedome (Huge fucking screen in Indiana) at the Childrens Museaum in Indianapolis with a friend of mine. We saw some film about the amazon river and watched an under 10 year old black kid staring at the screen enrapotured by what he saw..... I realized then what the power of movies truly is

I would also have to say, Jurasic Park. It was a lot of fun. All the good horror movies that I love today were made before I was born.

oddly enough - i'd say Terry Gilliam's Brazil. I convinced all my friends to go see it -mainly because i thought the newspaper print ads looked cool. needless to say most of them walked out dazed, confused and complaining - but i was i AWE.
