Dead Birds?

Anyone seen this movie? I was intrested in watching it, but I wanted some reviews first.

You should use the search. There's a few on this already.

HOWEVER. Dead Birds is a killer movie. Some genuine scares and the most ultimate jump scene I've ever seen.

One of the best low-budgets in awhile.

well worth renting. I think I rented it based on recommendations I read in another thread on this site.

WARNING: SPOILERS

I did a blind buy on it when it came out. I paid a little too much ($12) but I'm not upset that I own it. One of the better low-budgets I've seen in a long time. The skinned dog creatures were some of the coolest creatures I've seen in a while. The acting wasn't bad, (some of it was actually borderline good:p) and even though the story had bits & pieces of cliche it remained fairly original. If you can find it for $7 or less, I'd snatch it up.

6.5/10

12.99?! Hell, I'd buy it for that price. That's dirt cheap, over here it's $22 EVERYHWHERE.

I had really high hopes for this one but was a little dissapointed. It started off strong.....good atmosphere and all.....but then it kinda fizzled.IMO

Yeah, that seems to be the going price around here.

My opinion pretty much echoes the majority: Great jump moments, really cool effects, original and interesting plot, and one crazy-ass ending that I gaurntee you wont understand straight away. Highly reccomended.

Posher778 04-29-2006 07:10 PM

In fact, I still don't think I fully understand the ending...

Silver_Shamrock 05-01-2006 08:44 AM

I really liked this film and consider it to be a terrific blend of both the horror and western genres - sort of like "Unforgiven" meets "Hellraiser". Some generally spooky moments throughout, though it does tend to collapse under it own's weight during the film's last reel. Still, it's definitely a keeper in my book.

urgeok 05-01-2006 09:02 AM

i'd say more like 'the wild bunch meets Session 9'
