Has anybody seen the previews for Pulse? I went to see Silent Hill and when that preview came on it actually was kind of disturbing. I guess the movie is another japanese remake in the same vein as The Grudge. It's one of my must see picks.....

I saw it last week or so. It looked decent. Of course that's a trailer's job :D

from the trailer it looks like they changed a lot of the emphasis to be more reliant on the 'ghosts in the computer' aspect which really wasnt the focus of the japanese version.

its hard to tell .. it could be ok ... but i dont think its the same movie.

I forgot all about the ghosts on the computer part. That's what I didn't like. I'll rent it eventually and re-edit it to my tastes :D

It looked pretty interesting. I'd like to get my hands on the Japanese version first, but that probably won't happen. So, I'll go and see Pulse and then see the Japansese version. (That's how my luck generally flows, but it ain't so bad).

the Japanese version got a commercial release in the states not too long ago. I know Netflix at least carries it.
Every time a topic about this movie (Kaïro) comes up I pimp how it's one of the greatest movies of all time, so I'm not gonna do that this time (except that I just kinda did)

Looks pretty damn good.

But it´s impossible to see if the atmosphere works as well as it did in the Asian version.

That´s rarely the case with american remakes. The atmosphere tends to get lost in all the cgi action..:rolleyes:

this movie almost looks like a whitenoise kinda movie unless im just way mixed up

I agree with the previous post, I can see White Noise similarities, and I've heard there will be a White Noise 2... I could see Pulse being a sequal to the original White Noise. (I know it's not but from the trailers, thats what I was expecting after the 1st one)

Pulse and White Noise seem to similar...

I saw the trailer and it seems pretty interesting. Might be better than the last wave teen horror films.

I think I would have liked Pulse if I weren't so anal. The dialog was crappy and the grammar was horrible! It really wasn't that scary either. I'm looking around for the Japanese version hoping that it'll be better. I just can't seem to be as anal retentive about foriegn films. Go figure :rolleyes:

Not a bad movie, but not great either. kind of a modern "B" movie. I've never seen the original Japenese film so I don't know if it's better or worse, but it was a decent film.

Saw it two days ago with my brother on "discount tuesdays", and I must say I found it to be an endless string of one overused cliché after the other...

No I have not, but I heard its a lot better. Not very surprising I must say...
