I think this is horribly creepy
AND beyond bad customer service.
OK, as a lot of you know, my mom died of cancer last November. We had her buried down in a small town cemetarty in southern Minnesota, where a lot of family is buried and mom and dad had bought side by side gravesites for the two of them. So after the funeral, she was buried and over the winter, my dad, my brother and I selected a very nice gravestone for the two of them. The company we bought the gravestone said they could probaly get it in before Memorial Day. Which we though would be nice, but we were more concerned that it be done correctly. OK, they get it in before Memorial Day, but place the headstone wrong. So my mom's date was over someone else's grave, that wasn't dead yet, and her body was under my dad's uncompleted date (cuz he's still alive). So, the gravestone people said, no problem, we'll get it fixed. Now we get a call saying everything is right now, but they moved MY MOM'S BODY instead of the gravestone. So now my we have to figure out who fucked up where, but fucking-A, they had to move my mom's body because someone's stupid fuckup! They do this for a living, how can they be so lame as to make such as horribly basic fuck-up like this?????? Sorry, I'm really upset about this. I'll calm down and be OK in a while. But anything that anyone can say to help will be very much appreciated. |
Shame on them, respect of the dead is something that has been lost as time has gone on.
I really don't know how to comfort that situation, since I'm still baffled they could do that, but I do want to tell you I'm immensly sorry for your loss, and if you ever need someone to talk to throw me a PM. I'm only a sixteen year old kid, but hey... Things will get better, and just know now that your mother can finally rest in peace. |

Cant you like sue them or something? That is terrible!
|
Lawsuits, unless you can seriously have a chance to win, are a waste of fucking time. It makes lawyers rich. I'm already involved in a lawsuit that I don't want to get into details about, and I DON'T want to ever do this again, even if we win (which I do think we will).

Man that's incredibly fucked up... and I too am sorry for your loss, Watching your parent die of cancer is a tough thing to do, I've been there, and I can imagine how the cemetery situation on top of that whole experience could totally drive you mad.

That's pretty fucked up, man. I hope, as a show of deep respect for the dead, they'd settle that mess as soon as possible and get things back to their rightful places. I'm sorry for the loss.

You know, it has been, through out time, very unfortunate to upset the dead. I try not to even speak ill of the dead due to old superstitions that I hold.
Perhaps their actions will be paid for in full. Regardless, Mona, that is a sick sick thing for them to do. To unearth a woman's resting place for their benefit is terrible and violating. This is not something that should go unpunished by some means or ways. I would relax. Peace will find it's way to you. Mother Nature has Her own ways of sorting these things out...usually at night, when the Moon hides Her face. Incidentally, did you know that cemetaries will not allow Witches to put our symbols on headstones? I don't know how they get away with it, seeing as how that's highly illegal. |
Thank you everyone for your kind words and support.
My brother talked to someone, not sure if it was from the cemetary or the gravestone people, and that guy was like "nonono, everything is fine. But you might want to bring some grass seed and a watering can for one side of the grave." So I don't know what to think now, but my brother and I are driving down there tomorrow to find out exactly what was done. Thanks again for your support. @Haunted - how do they know what symbols mean what. couldn't you just say something, it's a family symbol. Or do they actually have a little book of forbidden symbols or something. |
Well, most people are familiar with the Pentagram, and likewise most people don't have a clue as to what it means. Therefore, they won't put it on gravestones, even though it is the symbol of a religion that is recognized by the US govt.
They have a list of symbols they do put on headstones, and they won't upgrade to put ours there. As I said, that's highly illegal, seeing as how it's total discrimination. |
This is really messed up. They should be whipped in public for doing something like this. My sympathies are with you. Get some people together and kick their butts into the ICU.
Hopefully everything will turn out for the better soon. Wishing you and your fam all the best, mona. **hugs** |
Well, my brother and I drove down to the cemetary today. I am relieved to see that they moved the gravestone and not mom.
the confusion came in because the message they left my brother was something like "Well, we moved your mom, so the stone is in the right place now." The message they left my dad was that it had been corrected. My brother and I didn't tell my dad about the message he got. No use in upsetting him until we found out exactly what was going on. and then we decided to not even mention that part to him anyway since it was just a stupid message that someone obviously was not clear enough in conveying the message. So, although it is annoying that they put the tombstone in the wrong place initially, at least they didn't move mom. Thanks again for your support and I am relieved to give good news. |
