What the hell possesed those assholes in hollywood to think up this peice of shit.
i definatly do not like the idea of this.

Roderick Usher 09-23-2006 12:11 PM

$$$$$$$$$$$$

alkytrio666 09-23-2006 12:39 PM

It's better than a remake or a sequel.

I don't think it's a half bad idea compared to some of the other shit they've been pumping out.

this + R. Lee Ermey is top notch

I am looking forward to it

The_Return 09-23-2006 07:15 PM

Looking at the trailer, it should be better than the remake.

Heres hoping.

DrenTheLiar 09-23-2006 07:46 PM

i think it looks ok but it looks just liek the fuckin remake...a buncha kids gettin chased aroudn with a chainsaw.....and the mask looks kinda...well gay...im gonna seee it but im not expecting greatness

Morbid Fantasy 09-23-2006 07:54 PM

I don't think it looks half bad. I thought the first one was pretty good and anything with Jessica Biel in it is worth a watch for eye candy factor alone. Too bad she won't be in this one.

roshiq 09-24-2006 02:32 AM

I liked the TCM remake. aLthough I'm agree with that... this prequel looks little bit similar to the remake but still I'm looking forward to it.

I like to be invited @ Hewitt Home!!:)

the_real_linda 09-24-2006 03:59 AM

its a treerible idea....dont the hollywood mooks have any original ideas of their own....jeez!

It's a prequel to TCM '03. The original series (the old seventies TCM-The Next Generation) is over. The Beginning tells the story of Leatherface and how his family got the way that they are. It has no connection to the original series. The family name is even different in the new series, they changed it from Sawyer to Hewitt. Also, I read that The Beginning received an NC-17 rating but was trimmed to an R. Early reviews are saying that The Beginning is one the most disturbingly graphic horror movies of all time and makes the '03 remake look weak in comparision!

Well no shit. That's what the idea behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is...a bunch of kids getting chased around by a guy with a chainsaw.

the_real_linda 09-25-2006 11:20 AM

i know its the prequel to the 2003 film but if its not connected to the original films then they shouldnt use the texas chainsaw name.....even if it is a marketing tool, a familiar story that the public are already used to

psycho_butthead 09-27-2006 08:20 AM

i want to see this. i think the story will be shit but the gore will be sweet so im all for it.

Roderick Usher 09-27-2006 08:37 AM

really hated the remake, can't see as how this one could be any better.

generally I'm more leniant toward a prequel than a remake, so I'll reserve judgement for now. But I ain't seeing this one in the theater.

Miss Olivia 09-27-2006 10:32 AM

Old R. Early ripped this movie to shreds in an interview.....he even said he refused to do it unless they let him rewrite his own lines.
I'm not holding out much hope.

joshaube 09-27-2006 03:04 PM

I'm planning on seeing it the Sunday after it comes out. Don't really know what to expect... the 2003 version wasn't that great IMO, and this looks only slightly better. It'll probably be an average Hollywood flick, similiar to the 2003 installation. Though, some scenes look pretty pleasing.

I have to agree, I only just read about this film this morning, at first I was anoyed, but then again at least it is somewhat a fresh aproach...

That's an odd plan. Why the sunday after it comes out?

Burning in Hell 09-28-2006 10:19 AM

Well, I've read two reviews of this on other horror movie sites, and both are basically saying the same thing : that the prequel is miles above the sequel and that it is a very dark and insanely brutal affair. One even said something like : if this is the R version, I can't imagine what was left out in the NC 17.

Guess my interest for this has just risen a bit...

DrenTheLiar 09-28-2006 11:52 AM

im sure when it comes out on dvd theyll release some unrated edition of it...

bloodybill81 09-28-2006 02:13 PM

remake was decent; hope this one's better

The 2003 remake was okay as far as remakes are concerned, but I hope this one is MUCH better...I guess we'll see next friday:D

Yah, "unrated". Meaning one extra minute of useless dialogue.

Or little things missing like in the Saw Unrated edition.

smartpatrol 09-28-2006 03:25 PM

if anyone is interested in seeing it for free on oct 3rd, check out this website.

http://www.texaschainsawmovie.com/fangoriascreening

just fill out the info and you automatically get a free pass for 2 people. i'll be seeing it in chicago, but it's not nationwide, so check to see if it's in your area. hey, what do you have to lose seeing it for free???

DrenTheLiar 09-28-2006 03:54 PM

i think the unrated movies are just...well overrated these days i mean im sick of hearign the term cuz the american pie movies reall just gave the term unrated a stereotype that it meant the movie had more nudity in it...and it comes put that thsi isnt true with all "unrated" movies

Good shit. I loved the remake and I'll be seeing this the day it opens.

hitman3005 09-28-2006 07:18 PM

I liked the 2003 remake. Doesn't even touch the original, but enjoyable. I'll go see the prequel when it comes out. It'll help that our theatre lets you drink beer while watching the movie!:p

novakru 09-29-2006 05:37 AM

Ermey is a definite draw for me on this one.
I don't think it's possible for that man to be bad in anything.

I'll have to wait for the DVD though.

DrenTheLiar 09-29-2006 11:04 AM

hehe wow i totally forgot about ermey..

I agree. Another good example is the Charles Angels 2 DVD, they had an unrated edition and a regular edition which was the full screen. Well I saw this with my semi-girlfriend at the time and I couldn't tell the difference from the original cut to the DVD.

DrenTheLiar 10-01-2006 05:59 AM

well i like how theyre extended and all but the term itself is just annoying

bwind22 10-01-2006 10:04 PM

This will kick ass. I'm there opening day.

Geddy 10-02-2006 02:27 AM

texas chainsaw prequel

I think it sounds pretty good the trailer looks pretty awesome to I might see it in theaters but i'll probably wait for the video release.

jq14 10-02-2006 08:41 AM

anyone on a site like this that says...."I will wait till it comes ouot on DVD" is full of shit. Like you I am pumped about a movie lke TCM The Beginning coming out. Not very often do horror movies come out in the theaters, good or bad. Since we all consider ourselves horror buffs, you will go see it just like I will.

the_real_linda 10-02-2006 08:46 AM

ur probs right.....i was meant to go see th hills have eyes remake and i went to go see it the second week it was out and it wasnt on anymore....so u gotta see horrors as soon as they come out....ill be going

Geddy 10-02-2006 01:25 PM

texas chainsaw prequel

I'd probably see it in theatres but it's probably and R rating and at the theaters around here they won't let me in.

JP500 10-03-2006 04:46 PM

I'm looking forward to it.

Dark Queen 10-04-2006 12:58 AM

Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel

Can't wait!!! I got preview passes from a Halloween store. If I see it first, I'll be back to put in my 2cents.

Not full of shit-just CAN'T get to the theater because of personal reasons.
I would though,go see this in the theater, if I could. I think this movie will actually SCARE me. WOOOHOOO!

If you don't know the why's and what's behind someone's comment-don't lump them into the 'full of shit' catagory right away:D
